I imagine Prescott is now putting the broken body of that News of the World slime ball into a bin out the back of the studio about now.

It was pretty much all hit for me tonight. The†twin†assault†of†Brooker's outstanding Rooney piece†and Mitchell's Clegg†privilege dissection sent it into some kind of awesome orbit. †

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

    My last push

Jimmy Carr front bit was actually good this week, but Brooker's Rooney assault begins at 5:15, Listen to Mitchell is at 9:45. Do yourselves a favour, loves.

Yeah, I must agree - the only dud last night was Carr's God, but the rest of the show was pretty brilliant. The Rooney diatribe was a bone shatteringly awesome piece.

Yeah, I still have to fight the urge to go and load the dishwasher while Carr is doing his dress up bits but Mitchell and Brooker are just brilliant.

The Jimmy Carr dress-up bits should be stopped. Guess they want a bit of variety, or they don't know what else to do with him. It's the weakest part of the show every week.

As do I, in a weird way.

Brooker and Mitchell nailed it last night.

Shame that Mitchell's debate once again descended into banker bashing with the audience taking sides with Max Kaiser. Apart from that, it was a good show this week, particularly liked Brooker's segment on Ed Miliband.

that max kaiser seems a bit insane, he was on vincent brownes show the other night, and his debating tactics seemed to be shouting everyone down,

Some great coverage on the wedding from the US there. :) Giving advice to Katie and now telling their audiences how to have tea party.

    God they're so moronic. :D

They were doing the same thing on This Morning today... just as moronic I know, but British TV has been just a bad.

Oh aye. I'm sure. Haven't watched any of the coverage on any channels, but that guide to an English tea party and the air balloon trip across London (or what turned out Bath) with the shite music.... something else.

It's not looking good for the future of this show. Channel 4 are denying it's been canceled, but it's not looking promising.

I wouldn't really miss it to be honest, it's a bit more juvenile than I hoped it would be, and there's far too much emphasis on comedy. A British Daily Show it is not.

Well it's coming back... but they've cut the running time and the quantity of episodes. Weird.

Not really. Probably saves them a ton of money, which they'll need since it didn't have a great number of viewers.

It just seems like... why bother? One of the main complaints was that it didn't have a long enough running time - at least, not long enough devoted to each segment.

Having said that, it appears that the amount of segments per episode will also be reduced so maybe it'll balance out.

I'd have continued watching it, but I can't stand Laverne. Everything else is fine, but I have to turn over the moment she opens her mouth. I don't know when she's going to shut up either, so I never end up switching back.

Yes but in order to keep equality warriors off their backs they'll need the token female presenter - and where are all the funny female actors/presenters/comedians these days?

If this program was recorded as live but then edited, as opposed to being broadcast live, then it would be a brilliant show. Thatís how they do all the shows this is based on like The Daily Show and Letterman and all that.

The reason the show doesnít work is because the fact that itís broadcast gives it a nervous energy, and you can see all the cracks and all the fuck ups. Plus all the bits that donít quite work get left in there. They should record an hour or so, trim out the shit, and put out a nice polished professional show.

Cutting it down to 45 mins will help infinitely. Each episode used to seem to go on forever with same basic joke rehashed.

I think they have to keep the live aspect of the show. It is actually what makes it work, not what makes it not work.

Cut out Jimmy Carr dressing up though.
