    lol

Not sure what 3D would bring to the table for Gatsby, apart from Myrtle FLYING OUT THE SCREEN.

    Dear Hollywood,

Please get over your obsession with 3D, just because Avatar made lots of money doesn't mean everything in 3D will.

Signed pretty much everyone who goes to the cinema

    This space left intentionally blank.

    Baz Luhrmann ftw.

If someone said "Romeo and Juliet in 3D" you'd laugh, but I can imgaine Luhrmann's version working well in 3D.

Not that I'm any fan of 3D, but the source material is kind irrelevent when it comes to this guy.

Sounds exciting as a concept btw, although I still quite like the idea of Scorsese doing Gatsby a la Entourage.

I'm very late to this, but no one else has linked to it so here's the trailer. Could go either way, I reckon.

Jay-Z is doing the score. Which would actually work if they'd set it in the modern-day, but they haven't, so I can't see it really fitting.

I think if this was an original screenplay I'd be quite interested, but it just doesn't seem like The Great Gatsby to me.

I honestly think Toby Macguire is an awful actor. Just seeing his face winds me up a treat.

I absolutely adored the book but I don't have high hopes for this.

A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.

Saw this yesterday. Dicaprio and McGuire do their best and are as reliable and watchable as ever, but overall the director is all over the place with it. Some great scenes but very a haphazard film overall.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

The design is lovely, but the story lacked any depth really. Not sure what I would've made of it without being familiar with the book.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Wow so it actually is in 3D?

It's a great trailer, knowing the book, and DiCaprio looks great yet again (Maguire annoys me too, that stupid "who, me? I'm so na´ve!" smile that seems to be his main act), but I don't want to sit through it, bad memories of TGG after having to do it at school, eurgh, borrrrrring! ;)

I do frown at those obvious CG recreations of eras gone by. Some of the shots in there had a very similar feel to those new Star War films.
