You have to watch it with the frame of mind that you're watching, in effect, a film about some guy hating on the Star Wars prequels with black humour and moments of clear, intelligent critique.

If I was writing for some fuckass blog I'd call it social media bla shit.

George Lucas is the man! Not one person in this thread... heck, not one person on this INTERNET will ever be as pro as him.

The guy is one of the most successful men in the industry. He birthed not only one of the most beloved, enduring sci-fi franchises ever but also TWO industry leading companies.

Us? We'll never achieve what he has because we are shit compared to him.
  • Deleted user 12 January 2011 18:56:43
    The prequels are still rubbish.

Perhaps, but the attacks on Lucas are unfounded. The guy is a master of his craft and an industry juggernaut.

All the movies that lucas has directed are rubbish. He doesn't take risks, he doesn't even know how to make a movie. He's more of a hack than Uwe Boll.

    ... Seriously... The Fuck?

He's only directed six films and half of them are the Star Wars prequels, not a great record.

Otherwise, as a producer, writer and innovator I personally think he's great. Without him we wouldn't have Star Wars and Indiana Jones, among many other great things of cinema.

Lucas was great. I feel he completely missed the point of what made the original SWs so popular, though - which, imo, says he's lost it.

Yes, I said closer! Move as close as you can and engage Skywalker Ranch at point-blank range!

We'll last longer than we will against that Death Star! And we might just take Lucas himself with us!

    Just watched that, typically awesome.

I should change the title of the thread really.

Haha. Spot on, as usual. So glad he did that film.

It definitely highlighted a lot of things I couldn't quite put my finger on that seemed a bit "off". In reference to the other Indiana Jones films, issues seem so obvious!

I wasn't sure about the Phantom Menace review but I stuck with it and love it, now I'm a huge fan. Can't wait to watch this one later, in the Cop Dog review he mentions this movie in his "worst movie ever" graphs.

It's the sheer amount of things that he picks up on in each review. Great stuff as usual.

I've watched his prequel reviews more than the actual movies now. Love 'em, especially the Phantom Menace one.

Ah, love Half in the Bag. Don't quite have the stamina for the proper Plinkett reviews.

    Get bent.

Watched the Star Trek (09) review and it was pretty good. I think I prefer it when he's ranting though, he liked that film too much.

Will have to rewatch the PM review again to make up for it :)
