    using this method:

    If you want to go the creepy stalker route to see if you may have one coming...

    Go here:

    http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference

    Use reference numbers between AAC2000001 and AAC2002127. They start roughly east and run west (ending with Alaska). Skip around and find your state, then narrow it in. Four were shipped to Lexington today, but none to me. Sadness.

    Yes, that means Google shipped out 2127 of these things just for today.

    I managed to quickly (flukily) deduce that 2 were delivered to the relatively small city (pop. 240k) where my father-in-law lives... I wonder...

    So I used the shipping tracker and found there is one headed to a small town in Colorado at the zip code where mine was ordered to! It is due to arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

    how /specific/ are US zip codes? is it like in the UK where they denote quite a small area? cos one has been shipped (to arrive tomorrow) to the zip I'm using

    The zip I used has a population of 5,000... good odds?
  • Deleted user 16 December 2010 17:06:53
    one zip for a whole town? zips are shitty huh. anyway mine is being sent to a city, w/multiple zip codes, but if zips are that unspecific they could cover a wide-ass area. we'll see, it's scheduled for deliv tomorrow so.

    Bump

    Lots of news articles about ChromeOS lately. Personally I think Google should ditch it, android has a lot more exposure. Just incorporate it into that instead.

    New HP Chromebook 11" for 229

    I think it looks rather nice myself!

    ... the Chrome OS recently had a big HUGE update and is a heck of lot better now too.

    Still not seeing the attraction, a cheap Windows or Linux laptop for a moderately higher price does so much more. A tablet is an option as well perhaps. Even the battery life isn't anything to write home about. Suppose it's light which it has going for it.
