How are they? I'm quite tempted to give this a go after ME3, but is it just an sp job, or do you think there's enough in mp/horde mode to keep a it going?

Im pissed off with zavvi heres the complaint I made to them: Hey zavvi im very annoyed now!! First my order of Binary Domain did not arrive today on release day but I pre ordered it and seems people who pre order get the raw deal because you dont even wait till after release day before cutting the price by a staggering 8!!! I paid nearly 33 and now on release day its 24.95?? Im afraid thats just far too cheeky and wish to cancel my purchase and then reorder. I have 14 days in which I can change my mind and return this so thats what I'm going to have to do unless you can refund me the difference. Thanks, please get back to me as soon as possible. signd: Mr angry !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dunno mate, not had chance to play it yet.
Most of the praise is towards the Sp, tacked on is the word for the MP.

Shopto sent this to me on Wednesday, and I've worked my way through the first five chapters. It really is good fine; slightly unpolished in a couple of areas, but bringing in loads of refreshing little details in others - the combat is great fun.

Playing through with the mic and ninety percent of the vioce commands are registering - although it was hearing "fuck you" as "love you" for a while. Interestingly, I've started to find a use for the latter now. Curious how other players stories are branching.

Good price for it in the UK, less than 30 on release. Got it over Syndicate in the end.

And we're done. Exhausting, impressive and rather a lot more plot than these things usually bother with. Very interesting to see some of the end-game developments, with one scene in particular playing out a certain way due to the trust mechanic. Really keen to see what alternative play throughs conjure up.

Really liked this - as crackers as it is.

    Crackers ?

From the team who brought you Kiryu vs tigers, and an old man throwing bulls, to splendiferous karaoke scenes amongst other wonders of spectacle ?

    Naaaah. Never.

    /has also complained to Zavvi

Not sure, but three solid nights of play. (And I was planning on having an early night, tonight.) Potentially eight hours, but it felt longer (in a good way).

I played the demo thru on both PS3 and xbox360 - is it unrepresentative of the full game? I really was underwhelmed and yet all I read is positive praise from all corners...? Better than vanquish... for real?!
  • Deleted user 25 February 2012 19:52:16
I wasnt keen on the demo and thought id give this a miss, but after trading afew bits in i went for it anyways. So glad i did, bloody love it!
I really hope they do another one. Everybody buy it.

Pretty good so far, nothing you haven't seen before, but the unusual mix of Yakuza and Vanquish. It's really solid and the best thing about it is blowing lumps off of robots, very satisfying and meaty combat. Set pieces are cool, but it doesn't help that I ploughed through Uncharted 3 in two days.

6 or 7 so far, probably 4 hours in.

So is this semi open-world like Yakuza, or straightforward on rails run and gun like Vanquish, or a bit of a hybrid?

Been pretty straightforward with a couple of little areas of downtime so far. Very enjoyable though.

    Apart from this elevator section.

    FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

Im at part 2 and so far I like it very much, yeah more vanquish, gears type. Nice meaty guns spesh when upgraded and good combat with plenty of action. Graphics are good, and animation is spot on.
  • Deleted user 25 February 2012 23:11:39
Loving the demo. Definitely one to pick up at some point. A co-op campaign would've been appreciated instead of the PvP.

Wow just finished bloody amazing, great from start to finish.

It plays like Gears crossed with vanquish.

Great gunplay, nice boss battles, great squad mechanics and a cool story.

    Defo worth another playthrough.

One of the best single player games on current release.

    Price in Game? 39.99

    Price on Shopto.net? 29.99

    No wonder Game is struggling...

I have to get to bed now but I dont want to stop playing its getting better and more intense the more you play. Plenty of upgrades to play around with and nice touch where you get comments and feed back on how good or bad your doing. Im absolutely fabulous apparently.

Well, still haven't received it, and Zavvi aren't interested in the price discrepancy (pre-ordered @ 32.95) , so I've effectively got to return and refund it, and re-order it at 24.95 (miraculously dropped on release).

I've told them I'll be returning it, but I'll be f**ked if I'm ordering from them again.

Shopto does have the slight advantage that they are selling the EU grey import version which probably hasnt had VAT paid on it..... my copy from them is PEGI 18 and the UK one is BBFC 15..... doesnt bother me, just that Game can't import in that quantity without seriously annoying Sega.
