Now i've finished God of war 3, im interested in what people consider to be the best of the series. I was at times blown away by gow3, in particular the boss battles. But some of the areas seemed a little bare, such as the area with the giant boxes, possibly the most dull and uninspired part of the series.

All things considered, I feel gow2 was the best. It had a richer storyline and the controls felt much tighter.

    What do you think?

GOW2 was (arguably) the most authentic representation of Greek mythology, it really felt like i was traversing ancient Greece. The others didn't somehow.

There really isn't much between the games, but with having a profound interest in Greek mythology, i resonated with GOW2 the most.

2,3,1 IMO. 1 got a bit frustrating in places but they're all great.

3 was brilliant I thought, very epic! For me it would be 1>3>2!

    3 > 1 > 2 for me.

The pacing of 2 is awful although it has most of the best fights.

There's a few actually, though they aren't out yet.

    1) Production was handed over to Nintendo. First screen: http://unrealitymag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/kratos-kitten.jpg

    2) Production handed over to Konami. Here you play mostly as Avram Grant trying steer West Ham out of disaster, but this screenshot says otherwise.

Really liked the first. Though GOW2 was the best imo, just seemed like a bigger spectacle, the biggest step forward for the series (though not by alot). They're all pretty good though :)

Yet the gap between each is very small. All brilliant games.

I like it when he's angry.

    1>3>2

2 was by far the worst one for me. I liked the setting, but I also found the script and the whole story funny and not as well written as the first one. Also it was kinda tiresome in the long run.

The 1st one had the right pace, changed scenery right before they got too tiresome, the level design was much better and the only bad thing about it was the Hades part and, like all GoWs, some scenario plotholes here and there.

Two.Three had a terrible almost game breaking frustrating side scroll boss. I'd actually used it as a case study for a QA job I applied for. Difficulty curves are all fair and well but that boss was QA fail.

    I assume the very end.

Pissed me off as after the entire game on normal I had to drop to easy for one bit.
