I think its a good time to rest sterling, plus I dont think he is an amazing player so the initial impact has died down one we all realised he is just super quick. I reckon Assaidi (spelling maybe) looks a great little find in the games I have seen him play.

I tend to agree that Sterling seems to have had that initial impact that pace based players so often do. I suspect that Liverpool's current method of play doesn't exactly help him either. Downing also seems to be showing promise and indeed, what I've seen of Assaidi seems to suggest he could be a better option.

Said the disenfranchised Welshman who just fell down his stairs...again.

You are a factory of sadness.

Sterling is still only 18 remember so has plenty of time to develop,Walcott was still figuring out the rules of football at that age.

Same was true of Albrighton when he burst on the scene, he came in with a lot of promise and showed some great pace and skill, he has since gone completely off the boil and has barely played for us this season. McLeish ruined him. For Sterling's sake I hope Rodgers doesn't do the same.

You are a factory of sadness.

Sometimes you just cant follow it through. I remember hearing Alan Hansen waffling on about how Danny Cadematari was going to be the next big thing.

More often than not it seems its because early success turns a player into a billy big bollocks.

This might have been Beckham's saving grace, in that he was only one of a gaggle of Bright Young Things at Man U along with Scholes, Giggs etc.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

I quite liked Cademarteri. Didn't injuries play a role in his downfall?

I dont think so. Clarting a woman in the face and failing drugs tests were probably the main contributing factors.

The other one. Scouse fox in the box that wenger bought.

The forward that Sam Allardyce nurtured, he got one cap and engineered a move to Middlesbrough.

Christ my memory of names is bad.

Benitez has confirmed he's away at the end of the season. They'll be dancing in the streets of west London tonight.

Not sure why anyone would want to be Chelsea manager, even for five minutes.

Benitez shows the world why he's perfect for Chelsea then.

God, wouldn't that be great? Like some footballing version of Big Brother, with a whole load of parties that obviously *hate* each other forced together for another season, just for our amusement?

Sounds like Rafa has gone off on one tonight. Can't disagree with most of what he has said.

John Terry would happily be their manager though.

    Player. Captain. Leader. Cunt.

@Whizzo I'd do it for the payoff when Roman inevitably gets bored and fires me.

It was a big mistake to bring him to Chelsea but at the end of the day, a hefty majority of their fans - maybe 99.13574% of them - are wankers of the highest order by continuously berating the manager as oppose to, you know, supporting their 'passionate' team.

I just want them to finish as low in the Premier League as humanly possible ...

... despicable club with equally charmless fans.

With a margin of error of +/- 5%

Took me a while to compile the data ... but yes, 99.13574% of their fans are wankers, or thereabouts.

Have you done any quantitative research into the wankeriety of Liverpool fans?

He said: "Chelsea gave me the title of interim manager which is a massive mistake. I'm the manager.

"The fans are not helping us. At the end of the season I will leave. They don't have to worry about me."

He added: "I am a little bit disappointed with some of the fans. They have to support the team instead of wasting time singing songs.

"If they continue singing and talking, they are not doing [the team] any favours. I will do my best until the last day.

"I am a professional and I am doing my job. What I want to do is win every single game for Chelsea."

There is one born every minute so, it is rather quite tricky keeping pace with those numbers ... sorry to let you down.

I think Liverpool fans are more batshit insane than cunts.

(See: article on Bale on BBC and someone saying Downing was much better because Liverpool won a trophy, or something)

That was quite special I must admit.

    : )

Yeah, Liverpool fans are more on the deluded/crazy side of things if you ask me; makes for some chuckle-worthy reading though.
