Mancini has delivered a title, and that is a significant achievement no matter what the critics say. The next man may do better, but he may do worse, and sometimes it's best to stick rather than twist.

City want to avoid the trap Chelsea have fallen in and keep twisting. Certainly don't get rid of Mancini until the better option is there for the taking (i.e. Mourinho leaving Madrid this summer).

I'm also amused at the idea that the Charity Shield is now a trophy. What's next, the Norwich Hospital Charity Cup?

    Matthew Connolly
    Two trophies:
Football League Championships 2011 (QPR), 2012 (Reading)

Come on that's really scraping the barrel!

Waiting till Mourinho is available seems like the smart move.

Apparently Wenger has had a bit of a meltdown at his press conference today, and shouted at a journalist for looking at him.

Good. Finally a human reaction from him rather than this stupid "we played with great mental strength and speereeet" bullshit he trots out every game

hopefully he gave the players exactly the same attitude in training today.

Anything in these Dave Dein rumours?

Dunno what the rumours are, i only really read the official website and Arseblog occasionally, i avoid pretty much every other arsenal website and forums with rumours and speculation on it. My twitter feed only has arseblog and then a lot of the players on it.

I'm fairly certain Dougs, LeD, TBB and Edd live off the twitter feeds so they'll know :-)

    About joining Liverpool?

Not been near Twitter etc today, but can't see him returning unless Usmanov buys out Stan and replaces the entire Board. Still lots of ill feeling.

I'd like him in charge of transferring Gervinho to anywhere else.

NOt seen that - there's no doubt we missed his clout when he first left. Not sure whether he'd still have the same contacts etc, he's not worked in football for 6 years. And as I say, the Board still hate him. Although with Fitsman having departed, it might be easier than it once was....

I would be willing to bet that gervinho gets at least 15 goals in his first season at his next club with a further tenner on him getting club player of the year.

Stan Collymore gave everyone a reminder of what a complete bellend he is tonight. Was criticising Carrick's performance against Real then had a go at Paddy Crerand, no doubt recieved some abuse from Man Utd fans for this but he stoops as low as to poke fun at Best's liver disease, fucking cretin deleted the tweet after.
His "liver disease" was him drinking himself to death, controversially getting a replacement liver on the NHS, and then drinking himself to death some more. Alcoholism is a crippling curse to the poor bastards who suffer from it, but to say "liver disease" as though he was the blameless victim of a virus or something is disingenuous.

    A) It would be funny

    B) I cant believe that a player can just suddenly become shit.

Im still waiting for torres to have a run of form.

Ah ok. I have this theory that AW isn't able to get the best out of players anymore, thought you meant that.

Just confidence mainly imo. And having 60k frustrated fans baying every time you miss etc can't help such fragile little minds. He's a good player who causes problems but has a real lack of composure.

It was a very good goal alright. I think others have said it before but I much prefer the likes of this and Swansea's goal from earlier in the season to the endless 25 - 30 yard pot shots that often end up winning the Goal of the season awards.

f course I really like those goals too but a great team goal is really a thing of beauty.

    Unless it's Liverpool :p

Okay yeah, was completely wrong to say liver disease, but that bellend mocking someone over dying from alcoholism is a fucking pisstake.

Gervinho's a massive bell end. Figuratively and literally.

Come on Dougs, even we Arsenal fans can now admit that Gervinho is purely and incontrovertibly a complete waste of space. Whether that's down to psychological or physical deficiencies is not only a moot point but a distracting one - the important fact is he's incapable of performing to standard required and has remained so for some time. Glue factory, as TH14 would put it.

    Why look, it's a blog:
