Maybe we should have a desperate thread for racism, financial doping and Suarez' teeth
Shall we just go back to talking about how fucking shit De Gea is then?
    Touchy..

Wasn't a criticism, hell I get involved in a fair few silly arguments myself. Just the pattern of the thread.

We didn't offer Cole a 5k pay rise (was more like 20k I think), it was that the final offer was 5k less than Dein had verbally agreed (but didn't have Board agreement on), so Cole felt slighted (some may say justifiably). Still, 55k a week back then was a lot of money and it was his reaction that turned fans against him.

But yeah, that's certainly where it started.... And even if we had held onto him, I have no doubt he'd have left for pastures richer by now.

City would've signed him instead of Clichy.

International week innit. After tomorrow it'll be all 'Told you X about Walcott all along' depending on how well he does.

Where has Shelvey come from? He seems to have appeared from no-where, he looks like a Polish Neo Nazi that's lived in a cellar all his life.

Why is it always Liverpool who seem to find these useless spastics and give them first team football?

Although all players on the U21 scoresheet - all have had the Liverpool influence!

Aren't Liverpool bossing the U21 league too? Not bad really!

    @kalel

Done a Blackburn??? As in spend a ton of money to usurp the existing status quo? Because that's what Blackburn did... They also wouldn't have been able to upset the existing big 3 that was Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool.

It even took a fairly substantial investment for Spurs to move on when we bought in the likes of Berbatov and Modric et al. We just happened to be one of the lucky ones and it worked out with our imports so that we were able to sell them on for profit. A long term injury here or there and struggling to adapt and we'd have slid down like every other team that has to spend beyond their means to make a step up.

I definitely agree with the point made though that without Man City, Spurs would potentially have sealed off 4th, but until you guarantee the spot for a few seasons on the bounce, the top players don't agree to move and as such the difficulty of maintaining 4th and Champions League football kicks in. Without challenging for the title, the players that get you there eventually leave and you have to start again and get lucky, whilst hoping you sign a Modric or a Berbatov, and not a Pavlychenko or a Bilyaletidnov.

Proof that Ben Arfa is overhyped and a mediocre player:

I think I'd rather have another (younger) Guiterrez than Ben Arfa, he's occasionally brilliant but he's often poor and always injured.

There's potential for him to still be great, though, took a while for Van Persie to go uninjured and become consistently amazing. But it's more likely that'll he'll stay inconsistent and injured all the time.

It's really just because Gutierez sounds better in your charming Northumbrian accent, isn't it Resi?

He came from Charlton. He was/is one of the hottest young prospects in England. Turned down a move to Chelsea iirc before he moved to us. Also I think his baldness is a medical condition so mocking it is definitely classy, well done.

So, Joe Kinnear (Joke in 'ere) was on the radio this morning throwing soundbites around left, right and centre. He seemed to think he was the saviour of Newcastle and he would still be manager if he didn't get ill.

I for one am so disappointed we didn't keep him. Triffic. Triffic manager. Top class.

The lengths most footballers seem to go to removing body hair you'd think it would be a blessing if anything.
