It's good to see not only quality footballers can be† bellends, but bench fillers too.

    To be fair, he had.

Good debut for you though. Definitely count your chickens on that one and gloat away, as there's absolutely no chance at all of it being a flash in the pan :p

    I've caught you red-handed pal!

Dont think he'll be flash in the pan to be honest - i know hes only played two games but he looks the real deal : big, strong, fast, can put a tackle in and has an eye for goal.

Baring in mind hes also not up to full fitness yet AND he only cost £1.8 million......im happy.

    :-)

Again, there is a reason you got him so cheap, but yes, he's looking good now. Seems like another very smart signing by you guys.

Things have gone from shite-awful to wonderful optimism in the space of 10 days - got to love the Premiership.

To be fair, Sissoko will get all the headlines, but the thing that pleased me the most was that everyone played well and put in a shift - definitely didnt look like a relegation-threatened side.

Considering Tiote is on his way home and Ben Arfa is rumoured to be back in training today, things are definitely looking up.

Personally I think Sissoko is probably the best player in the whole world. We should get about 170 million for him when he moves to Space Madrid.

When everyone is fit and ready to go, our match-day 16 will be the following :

    (4-2-3-1)

    Krul
Debuchy - Colocinni - Steven Taylor - Santon
    Sissoko - Tiote
Ben Arfa - Cabaye - Gouffran
    Cisse

Bench (any 7 from the following) : Harper, Yanga-Mbiwa, Perch, Anita, Marveaux, Jonas, Gosling, Amalfitano, Bigirimana, Ryan Taylor, Haidara and Ameobi.

I may be delusional, but that is, absolute minimum, a top 6 side. The glaring weakness being upfront, where if Cissť continues to miss chances (or gets injured) we're only left with one option :

"The worst part is, I'll have to have the break-up sex with myself!"

The thing about being a top six sides, is that it's not just about you, it's about the other sides.

So what I'm saying is, do you think that side is better than the best first 11 for either Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool or Everton?

I'd say it was pretty consistent with the other top six sides. They seem to consist of a group of solid players plus one stand out performer (Bale, Suarez, Fellaini, Podolski, Ben Arfa).

But as you alluded to, it's always going to be who gets the points on the day when your talking about these teams. One taking points off the other is absolutely huge.

Do you really think Ben Arfa is in the same class as the likes of Bale and Suarez?

In terms of talent and ability? Absolutely

Consistency? Probably not...but both Bale and Suarez have had their own problems with that as well.

I honestly see Ben Arfa as more of a Taraabt to be brutally frank. Clearly hugely talented but it's just flashes of individual brilliance, on far too rare occasions.

Which is a totally fair comment.

I thought last season he was showing signs of getting over that though. This season hasn't really been the best platform for him to push on.

I wouldn't be hugely surprised if he left in the summer and by then we'll know if Sissoko is going to be the stand out player :D

Well, I'm just glad Newcastle left it too late this season to make a serious push for the top four, as it's tough enough up there. Hopefully we can get something from our next fixture from them, and then I can enjoy them being a thorn in everyone else's side.

Someone made a good point after the Liverpool Man City game that Sturridge seems to recognize that Liverpool is his last chance at the top level and he looks to be taking his opportunity.

The big test is going to be after this honeymoon period though. He did well for Chelsea when he broke into the team then started spitting his dummy out.

If he is still playing this well this time next year though, looks Liverpool will have done a mighty fuck you to people like me who were scoffing at the transfer.
