    @NotSoSlim

    I've seen him more than enough to form that opinion I'm afraid.

    It is alarming how many Frenchmen are at the club. Maybe this is another reason colo doesn't want to be there anymore :p
    Aren't most of them French in that very special way that means they are actually African?
    ...you mean...black?
    Negritos, surely.

    Well no offence willing to trust comments made by pros as well as out scouting to believe that to pass judgement now is ridculous. Taraabt already thinks he is world class thats his problem.

    Zaha if he has correct attitude can have a big future

    I am talking about those specific players whereas you are making a sweeping generalisation of all french players.

    Yeah.

    Doesn't change the point though; that Pardew has effectively brought in 80% frenchies. The hypocrite.

    @NotSoSlim

    No probs. I've watched him a few times over years and I have no idea how he's regarded so highly and why Utd have paid so much money for somebody who is so inconsistent, lazy and worse than Bale/Suarez for diving.

    I'm pretty sure if you ask anyone in the Championship thread they'll say exactly the same. I think money would've been better spent on Ince who looks much more of a prospect than Zaha.

    I'll probably be totally wrong, but if Zaha is worth 15 million then our right back who's kept him quiet for 3 seasons is worth double that :D.

    While I am not really a Pardew person, he is not exactly the only guy at the club involved in transfers.

    If Pardew was sacked tomorrow I'd put money on us continuing to recruit from the French market.

    Thing is its basically a 10m risk as other 5m depepends on success. Think we went in for Ince and he wants Liverpool so fair enough.

    Our wingers have been shocking and your description of him sounds like Ronaldo for first two years :)

    If he is dedicated he will have to change that to be a success and everyone seems to think he is. Appreciate your insight though. Hope your proven wrong obviously

    As I said earlier in the thread, I have watched Zaha quite a bit this season and he is quality. He will be a massive player in a couple of years

    Yea sure he is. Lets judge the kid before he even puts shirt on.

    Remember people saying 12m on Ronaldo was too much. Anyone scoff at Ox Chamberlain deal?
    Nobody that saw Ronaldo play for Sporting against us in that friendly said we paid too much.

    We robbed them blind.

    Yeah so it's not actually Imogen Thomas, just some random model for River Island.

    10m+5m seems fine for this lad. It's the going rate for a decent young English player these days and he seems to have all the attributes to be a success at the club. I mean, we paid 15m for Ashley Young..

    The important thing here is wages, he'll probably start off around 30k-40k like most of our youngsters, which is probably why we're willing to pay a little bit more on the transfer fee. Could be at the club for another 5-10 years, and all of a sudden 15m doesn't seem so bad. The premium on English players is that they're far less likely to want to move abroad or to a rival.

    I think we need more French players personally.

    I mean only French players have the balls to say "Suck my pussy Lampard"

    Come and get it cumslingers!

    Well, he did boot someone who wasn't part of the game. Would have been the same if it was a steward, someone on the bench etc.

    Maybe that ball "boy" should also get a ban for diving and play acting.

    Really though, he was just trying to toe-poke the ball out from under the kid, and caught him very lightly in the process. I'm torn between wanting common sense to prevail, and wanting him banned for 10 games because I hate Chelsea.

    Maybe that 'professional' should act like a fucking 'professional'.

    One off provocation doesn't excuse stupid behaviour.

    P.S My dislike of Chelsea has no bearing on this opinion.
