Registered 10 years agoCan see Fergie picking up a touchline ban for his comments about the linesman in the Spurs game. Was it really worth it to just to "deflect attention away from the team's performance" (which I'm assuming is the explanation)? -

Bit unfair of him to single out the linesman for that shocker as the ref looked to have an excellent view of it too, they definitely should have got it right between them both. I'd imagine it's genuine frustration on this occasion in addition to the standard Fergie deflection technique and he probably will get a sanction for it.

Registered 10 years agoDoes make me laugh just how much a bee he can get in his bonnet over something as commonplace (to most teams) as a pen not being awarded.
Love to see how he'd react to a Pendro Mendez type incident, or that thing with Nani and Gomes a couple of years back. I suspect he'd demand the whole system come crashing down at the incredulity of it.
It was a pen sure, but this is the type of thing we usually have to put up with when we play United. Nice to finally have that kind of ref error (although considerably less ridiculous) go in our favour. -

Registered 10 years agoIt's particularly funny as Man U were trying to pop balls over the top all game. The amount of times they just passed it to Lloris from distance. -

Please buy a striker Daniel and then we can win the league etc. -

Registered 10 years agoConsidering we scored once with about 20 shots on target, and Man U scored once with about 4 shots on target, I'd have thought Man U could have battered us if they'd have been less negative.
I'm not sure exactly what Man U were doing that game. They certainly weren't parking the bus as we terrorised their goal, and De Gea had to pull off several top class saves or it would have been a massacre. And yet they weren't attacking either. Was odd. -

Registered 1 year ago@kalel To be fair it was a blatant penalty, any manager would've kick off about that when it probably would've got us the 3 points, and it happened at a time when Spurs looked like scoring (basically the whole 2nd half). Having said that if Rooney had stepped up he would've missed anyway. 10 competitive pens missed! What you saying Wazza!?
Anyone know who this Zaha fella is? -

I jest, welcome. Zaha comes from the mythical 2nd tier of English football. He is apparently quite good but I've not seen a huge amount of palace so can't say for sure myself. A few of the chaps who watch more of the championship than most of us have said he is decent but that the likes of Tom Ince currently look as good or better.
Guess we'll all know soon enough as it looks very likely that he is Premier League bound soon. -

Registered 7 years agoWhen palace played us last month, they gave us a spanking and zaha looked dynamite but... they played well as a team and a few of their players had a really good game, so its not like he is carrying them.---------------------------------------------------------
