That'll be why we turned down a 25m bid from you guys last summer then. :)

Walcott signing a contract has been made out to be massive news for Arsenal. I guess after Nasri, Fabregas, Van Persie etc. they want to show they can keep hold of their best players. The difference is he is not quite the same level of quality as those that have already left, I doubt any of the other big European teams are really that interested in him.
Agree with that. If anyone had really wanted walcott he would have gone already.

Look at the completed image on the right, it looks like it's been manipulated to me.

    Matt Le Tissier ‏@mattletiss7

Saddest part of nigels sacking is that i wasnt even shocked #laughingstock

Think I read somewhere that Le Tissier has to buy his own season ticket to watch them play, Cortese dislikes him that much.

Our best and most reliable ITKlol says Adkins has been in talks with us since this morning (not that he'll join us in the end, I'm sure), so Adkins must've known this was coming. It's an extremely bizarre situation.

Absolutely disgusted Adkins has been sacked. Genuinely offended. The man has done so much for the club and they're doing pretty well all things considered. Form recently has been impressive. What exactly do the club think this new guy will be able to achieve that Adkins couldn't? Bearing in mind how well Adkins knows the English game and the players at Southampton. What's Pochettino achieved as a manager? One mid table finish, and lost his last job after 1 point in 13 matches.

I hate football sometimes. Gutted for the man - seemed completely down to earth and would even quote poetry at press conferences to answer questions!
    This.

But he does have awful hair.

Dear Southampton, if we get Adkins, can we have Ricky Lambert back too please? Ta. :)

Solving a rubics cube doesn't make you an intellectual anyway.

This could easily have been a comment on Newcastle when they sacked Hughton to bring in Pardew.

If the next guy is more successful, people soon forget.

I reckon you probably will get him, not so sure about Rickie though.

I used to be able to do them, there are generic steps that can be applied in any state.

I've since forgotten how, and move the stickers like everyone else :)

In yet another stunning transfer window swoop by Arsene Wenger, Walcott has finally signed his extension. I can't wait to see how this transforms their playing style (ie. Theo back on the bench).

I fucking well hope not. He's my FPL captain for the DGW.

    A real statement of intent.

Look our world, one of our slightly better players who nobody else wants has signed an overpaid contract.

Theo is funny to watch, the look on his face is trying so hard to show he is great and important but then you see him play and think, never worth it.

I still genuinely think Arsenal will finish fourth ... whether the fans shall be happy about that or not!

absolutely i think that 4th is a good enough finish for us, especially with our current issues.

however if we get thumped by bayern home and away, and lose in the fa cup to brighton then i would consider the whole thing a bit rubbish overall.

New Southampton manager has said he's been analysing the squad for 2 weeks. Looks as though this was decided a while ago.

Thank god that's over. We had to give him what he wanted really, was unfathomable to lose another high profile player, whether he's as good as others that have left or not.

Yeah exactly. It's not so much a statement of intent. More a statement that we can now be held over a barrel.
