Heh, good example of truncating the Y-axis there! Kind of like this example:

My understanding is that if they still hold his registration even if they withold payment for breach of contract or if he retires.

Same as when kettleneck decided to go golfing. he had to come back because city owned him, even if they cancelled his contract.

To the point where even if the under-pitch heating does the job it will probably be unsafe for the crowd.

I'm fairly convinced that, even with the snow delay, we wont have signed anyone by the time we play WBA.

You are a factory of sadness.

Wonder what this 'internal punishment' Rodgers talks about will be. Complains all season about Liverpool not getting decisions then his star player admits to diving in the national paper. Almost feel sorry for him.

Not always true, his dive in the match against Villa earlier this season was hilarious. He was about two foot from Guzan when he did a swan dive.

You are a factory of sadness.

Bale sensationally told the Swansea Herald: "Yr wyf yn ddeifiwr. Im synnu hyn havent bastards trwchus yn gweithio allan eto"

Even that you could argue he was just trying to take the sting out of what he thought was about to happen to him, but his big mistake was then appealing for the foul, which was ridiculous and has basically cost him his reputation. Rightly so really.

Still think recently he's been making every effort to sort it out though, which is something.

They'd be impeding impeding his right to work or something otherwise wouldn't they?

    Probably gets very complicated this.
That was what the Bosman case was about but there are key differences here: he's not an EU national, and he's not at the end of his contract, he's attempting to wriggle out of it.

There are still massive grey areas surrounding Bosman (such as why are football contracts different than any other work contract? Why can't footballers just give a standard notice period and then look for work elsewhere? How can it be illegal to tell someone you'd like to hire them?). No football club or football association wants to look at them too closely though, in case the whole house of cards falls down.

If he really wants to go back to Argentina for personal reasons, it would seem simplest to give him a 6 month sabbatical and extend the terms of his contract for 6 months to cover it. Tell him he's got half a year to see if he can sort his personal business out, and if he's still desperate to live in Argentina after that he can find a team with some money who want him.
