@Syrette I was trolling you, mimicking you "Wenger out" after every time we won a game,

The Premier League is awful. Anyone excited by 38 goals in one day is nuts. So much rubbish football.

Eh, the best high of a football match is a goal being scored. The more, the better!

So, apparently after it went to 3-3 Pardew can be heard and seen shouting "no more goals" to his players. We went on to lose 7-3.

Pretty sad state of affairs really.

Lets just stop defending and have 25-18 score lines instead. That would be amazing...

Well, this many goals aren't scored every week. And there's always Stoke and Sunderland to balance things out.

Seriously, however, the reason why goals are the high point is because of the pressure of the build up and that they come few and far between. A goal scored is a release of anxiety and tension. That's why they're special.

10 goals in a game is down the park with your mates: goalie when. It's a joke.

Not exactly. We were playing against a side who were lucky enough to have no boxing day fixture, we were tiring, they had superior fitness because they didn't press at all in the first half.

Going on the attack against them in that state would have left us wide open. Of course as it turns out we were wide open soon anyway as they scored a fourth.

I might be wrong but he might not have actually said that, or in the context you think.

Bah, really wish MOTD came on iPlayer. Misses is watching the end of LOTR: Return of the King and don't have a dual recording freeview thingie.

    Why don't they have a BBC1+1 channel!

Terrible defending, but top work from Walcott there, great finish.

Doing Stoke a disservice there. I'm starting to really warm to them.

Strange performance. He score a great first goal. Was wasteful and shite for about an hour of football, and then was shit hot for 15 mins.

Oh great, is this gonna be the new "thing" that someone will repeat at the end of every weekend?
No the PL isn't "awful". Why is it that only on the internet is there only 2 options; "Awesome" or "shite"?
Yes, quality in the top 4 may have decreased defensively, but lower teams have improved vastly too. This isn't the old days where lower teams just sat deep and hoofed it, we have great playing styles from the likes of Swansea and Norwich beating anyone.

Oh, and quality or not, this is ENTERTAINMENT, and as things stand, this is looking to be one of them most entertaining and competitive seasons. If anything, this will cause the PLs popular to increase more so.

Theo? You're not basing that on highlights, surely?

Good job those terrible penalty refusals didn't come back to bite Wigan. Ridiculous decisions.

I think it's awful. Not everything in my world is either awesome or shite, as you say. But the quality of football is on the whole fucking awful. And ENTERTAINMENT is subjective. Watching strikers run at inept, badly organised defences and scoring isn't entertaining, it's embarrassing.

I'd take a tense 1-0,2-1,3-1 over 7-3 or 9-0 every day of the week. It would ok if these scorelines were freaks, but we're seeing them more and more.

In short: goals are overrated. More football, less goals.

Not watching MOTD but I think some of the press are forgetting that Arsenal scored 3 in the last 5-7 minutes, against a totally crushed team.

Not taking away anything from Arsenal who were very clinical but it wasn't as... dominating a performance as a 7-3 scoreline suggests.

Football was definitely more fun in the Mourinho/Benitez era. Proper tactical combat every week. Fergie's decision to just give up on the defence and midfield is symptomatic of the problem.

Agreed. A hard-fought tactical battle ending in 2-1 is better than a 7-5 shoeing any day of the week.

A hard fought tactical battle is vastly different to 11 men behind the ball being afraid to concede.

    Yep. Your point?

Also not really. 11 well-organised players against an attacking team trying to unlock them can be fascinating to watch.
