5 (for diving) already this season? You sure about that? Doubt it tbh.

He's just jealous that Ashley Young isn't getting the attention this year.

    From the guardian live update

81 min Gareth Bale has been booked for diving for the fifth time this season. That's a tricky one to call. Gardner tried to pull his foot away from the challenge, but his knee certainly clashed with Bale's knee. Was that enough to knock Bale over, given the speed at which he runs? Probably. I reckon Bale made a bit too much of it, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a foul. It's pretty difficult to call.

He's a big diving ponce. Better to book him when not 100% sure than let him get away with it.

Same for every other flopping queen in the league.

Opta, sky and bbc all saying so, is fairly shocking though.

Was not a dive, clear contact on the knee while running at full pace: http://www.mobypicture.com/user/leephelps/view/14512962

I'm all in favour of Bale being taught a lesson for diving but that was the wrong decision. It was a pen clear as day. To book him for diving was very harsh. Ref was a total homer all day. Sessignon got away with several nasty fouls and got nothing, whereas we were picking up yellows for every foul.

    Great result though, very pleased.

You know AVB's doing well because you never read anything about him/Spurs in the press. They're flying under the radar a bit at the moment, which'll probably suit them fine.

Not enough to send him flying tbh. Brushes his knee more than anything. Ref has a split second to get it right, and I think at full motion it looks like he's at very the least exaggerating any contact made.

He's a tall, strong, big guy and he'll be unfairly carded because his reputation precedes him.

If it wasn't a dive, he made the most of it.

    dat subs bench

Subs: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Giggs, Hernandez, van Persie, Scholes, Buttner.
    Ridiculous strength in depth.

I also think Lennon is almost as good as Bale. Scores fewer goals so doesn't get noticed as much, but overall game is better and has an amazing attitude and work ethic. Would take him over Young, Walcott, Johnson and all the other players that seem to play for England over him.

Maybe if Lennon started diving he'd get noticed as much as his colleague.

I think the most farcical thing is the inability to appear a yellow card.

Bale? Even if it wasn't a dive (haven't seen it), boy who cried wolf and all that.
Maybe if he wasn't a cheating, diving ponce, refs wouldn't be so harsh on the diving tosser.

He didn't "go flying" today. No theatricality at all. His leg got knocked hard and he went down because he was running at pace. It's just a mistake by the ref, but he's been booked for his reputation.

He does have a reputation to rebuild and he is trying. It will take time. But yeah, fair play he will need to lump some shit decisions to balance it out. I think the last three yellows have all been wrong so hopefully his debt is now paid.

Cazorla has been a bigger diver this season than Bale.

I've been disappointed with Valencia's diving as well. I think he's 'only' done it a couple of times that I've noticed, but yeah.

Looking forward to the United game, surprised it isn't on TV given WBA's form this season.

Had to switch from the Setanta Ireland stream though, damn, his voice was unbearable

It's definitely not five yellows for diving btw. One was for kicking the ball away after a ba decision. I remember it clearly. I reckon wine other was for a foul as well.

Not excusing it though. He has dived and he does deserve his rep. Again, hopefully soon he'll be forgiven.
