Its great for Di Matteo. A limited manager jammies his way into managing a high-calibre club, gets FA and CL cups added to his CV and leaves with co compensation. Not bad for a 6 month gig.

And has there been a caretaker manager at Chelsea who didn't get a fulltime gig? (when they wanted it). So whoever is next will probably get the full-time job, a sacking and compensation. Maybe I should apply.

And to summarize what you need to be at Chelsea to survive as manager?
    - be their most successful manager ever? Get the sack
    - be their most wanted manager? Get the sack
    - win the one thing the owner covets the most? Get the sack.

by all accounts, it is impossible to not get the sack at chelsea.

Abramovic should just hand out 6 month contracts to every manager in the top leagues around the world. It won't be long before he'll be back to Mourinho.

    Unless you're John Terry.

someone just made a great point to me

in 7 years, Chelsea have had several managers and won shitloads of trophies.

Arsenal have had one manager and won nothing.

Make Terry manager. That would be fun. See some fans on my FB page saying they won't support them if Rafa is put in charge. Makes me hope it is him.

Man Utd have had one manager in the last 7 years and won 12 trophies. CHECKMATE!

what happens when you get the unstoppable firing machine against the "unfire-able" Teflon Cunt?

I really would like to find out. Time to make JT player manager.

7 years, several managers and a budget so big that they spend more per season paying off sacked members of staff than Wenger gets to spend on new players.

    And their captain's a cunt.

Not a shock to be fair, as he was always just a caretaker manager. Winning the CL just bought him some more time, I always got the impression that Roman wanted to get rid of him as soon as he had a reason to. I didn't expect it to be this quick, however, but I guess it's because they must have someone else lined up.

Yeah, you conveniently forgot to mention the 1b or so ridiculous amount they also had to spend.

I think they were desperate to sack him, he just won things to stop it and any slip up would see him getting the boot.

    Can't imagine Pep going there.

Man City next for the caretaker manager.

    Brilliant!

Only just seen the news on the beeb. Unbelievable, really. Not saying Di Matteo was the greatest manager, but after delivering the CL trophy you'd have thought he would be given at least a season. It's not like they're that far behind the top two, either...

Chelski as a club and Abramovich as a human really are a repugnant combination.

    Why look, it's a blog:

Totally this. They had to give him the job, but he was absolutely never going to be their longterm manager. I am a little surprised in the end how little it took to actually sack him though, but to me that suggests someone impressive is waiting in the wings.

@Kay All i'm saying is, we can Chelsealol over their managers, and take the moral highground over their spending all we want, but i doubt their fans give a shit when they are watching their team cavort around the pitch with CL and PL trophies every othe year.

whilst we are forever waiting for diaby to be fit.

Read about that earlier on. You'd have thought the poster would have had the decency to obscure his NI number, his Tax Code and more of his address before putting it up on the net...

    Still, 300k+ on PAYE....egads!

The FA Fine was particularly amusing, I must admit. Assume it's a standard fine across all leagues? You'd think they'd tier it for the EPL...
