I want Spurs season to spiral out of control, yet I want AVB to do well.

    Hmmmm
He gets fired in January, along with Wenger. We get AvB, we win everything.

We should have as well. All that dicking around with Ade and we missed out on the better, cheaper player.

Realistically everyone missed a trick with Berba, not least Man U. Absolute class player. Could have done a role at Chelsea, Liverpool, maybe even City.
There's no way Ferguson would have let Berbatov go to any of the top clubs (or Liverpool) for 5m.

Great player, the 4-1 Spurs v Bolton game is one of the single classiest performances in a single match I've ever seen from a forward.

If the players are not interested in playing, I am not interested in watching.

Can he actually play up front on his own and lead the line?

I don't think he fits the (ridiculous) system we have TBH.

Plus he still smells a bit from his previous owners.

We should have bought him when Bergkamp retired. Perfect replacement but as you say, doesn't fit our system now.

It has to be deliberate. There's no move you do with a football that's a downwards stamping/stubbing movement.

I feel slightly sorry for both Adebaypr and Hangeland on that score. I totally get why both are red cards and they were both dangerous tackles, but they were also honest. Always feel a bit sorry for players that a) get sent off and b) banned for three games for an honest challenge. Doesn't really seem fair when malicious cunts like Suarez get the same punishment (or in this case, not).

He can't get away with it again, surely?
  • Deleted user 19 November 2012 09:29:54
As a 'pool fan I want to support him, but Jesus... You look at that, look where he's looking and there is no way that's a valid attempt to play the ball. The only reason he'd have to go over the ball like that is attempting a dragback and/or slide.

Great player, shite attitude. Makes me resent my club =/

That's at least the second one of those this season as well. Horrible "challenge".

True, but on the other hand he's got an effortless European cool about him, and you'd soon forget whoever he'd played for previously. Plus if he didn't fit your system, he might well be worth changing the system for - I'm sure most teams have tricky midfielders they could at least try to move up into a second striker slot in a 4-4-1-1, if they didn't have a striker that could play with him? 5 million just seems like the steal of the decade.

If the ref says he has seen it in his report, then he can unfortunately.

Would Fergie have let him go to a top 4 club for 5 million?

Berbatov might not have been interested either. Turned down Juve. Perhaps just wants to wind down enjoying football at a decent level with a manager he likes.

QPR must be lining up Redknapp by now. He seems to be on the telly more, getting his profile up. Only a matter of time. He is probably drooling at the transfer window and getting his Christmas slice. Like a rich Portsmouth.

Hopefully he'll buy Defoe back off us, and he'll get Dawson most likely.

I thought it was a disgrace what he said on MotD. Should have just said "Mark Hughes has the job, there's nothing else to say". More or less said he wanted the job.

He is shit on MotD btw. That was a mistake by the beeb. Doesn't understand the chemistry and keeps on saying awkward things.

They shouldn't have people currently involved in the game as pundits. It's just awkward/even less insightful (if that's possible).

I haven't had the pleasure. But yeah, him saying he wants the job in his (not very) indirect manner, isn't on.

Also Kompany was beyond wooden and supremely boring.

Overall it was somehow worse than Alan Shearer.

I enjoyed Kompany: he was very Komplimentary towards Arsenal. I think he felt a bit uncomfortable between those two goons.

I wonder if Man City had lost, and Utd won 5-0, he'd have agreed to go on the show. Likeable guy, even if a bit wooden.
