Think men are allowed to participate in WI stuff, just not join as members. Seems as it is a charitable organisation, they can restrict it:

Why are men not allowed to join the WI?
While WI membership is only open to women, men are welcome to attend courses at our residential adult education centre, Denman College, and take part in many activities, events and campaigns both locally and nationally.

The Women's Institute is an educational charity with a constitution that states membership is only open to women. Under UK law charitable organisations whose constitution stipulates single sex membership are entitled to restrict access to the opposite sex.

Its like complaining that if there is are MOBO awards there should also be MOWOs.

Nothing is stopping you, but you would look like a cunt for trying.

Also the WI is a very old institution with roots in a completely different era. I can understand why it's called what it's called.

If it was started today, I suspect it would be called something like The Institute for Gender Equality, and it probably wouldn't be restricted just to women.

It would also effectively end up being the classical music awards.

I think the most offensive thing about the MOBOs is that it effectively reinforces the "white" stereotype that "black" music is effectively "urban" music, whereas in fact basically all modern music is of black origin.

    It's basically self-ownage.

The most offensive part of the MOBOs is JLS gets nominated for awards.

There seems to be a massive inconsistency sometimes between getting nominated for working in a MOBO genre, or getting nominated for being famous and black.

    FOOTBALL!

The more I think about the MOBOs the more retarded they are. They basically ignore rock and roll completely, presumably because it's dominated by white people despite being a genre of "black origin", but then happily give awards to Plan B and Eminem and act like they're all racially aware in doing so, seemingly unaware that exactly the same thing is going to happen with "urban" music as did with rock, and they're endorsing it.

Not that there's anything wrong with white people making "black music", but it's just all so backwards the way they approach it.

    Anyway, yes, football.

Can't believe Cisse's goal against Chelsea didn't get in!

From those I'd have to pick either Stoch or Agyemang-Badu, both brilliant strikes and technically very difficult.

Speaking of which, who's your money on for a Spurs 1st goalscorer screamer this w/e? Normally someone who won't play much for you again, I'm going for Andros Towsend.

Ade is a given to score, but we're (mostly) over that and have a new focus for our ire. :) Thankfully, I am likely to miss the game entirely and be in ignorant bliss with no phone reception.

I hate 12:45 Saturday kick-offs, why do Arsenal seem to be getting so many this season? Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and now Spurs.

I quite like early kick offs, as you still have a decent amount of the day left after the game. 4pm on a Sunday or Monday night are the worst.

Peter Herbert, tells BBC 5Live he believes The FA is "institutionally racist." That's an accusation and a half...

Yeah, I like early games, although having the NLD early on a saturday is a bit of a bitch as it can ruin the whole weekend. Generally though it does mean I get a bit more weekend somehow. I can be home late afternoon which is nice.

And yes, 4pm Sunday is the worst. It's virtually bedtime when I get home from that one.

Indeed, and it would probably be shit.
Everything is worse with New Labour buzzword bullshit spinnery (now gleefully adopted by Newish Tory) plastered all over it.
Here's a logo with lowercase lettering, that'll be 250,000 quid. Your organisation is now known as "i.women", thank you very much.

I'm too young for it to be if any real significance to me but in my efforts to make others feel old I feel I should share.

Bebeto's son who he did his cradle rocking celebration about at the 94 World Cup has been called up to the Brazil U20 side.
