They'll throw the book at Rose and give Serbia a slap on the wrist.

What can be done? What would you do if you were in charge? Fining them more won't stop racism, banning all their teams for a few years, will that do it? I don't think so. racism is in the serbian gene. They're backwards and dismissible as primitive countries along with Slovenia, Slovakia etc

What disappoints me is when we got monkey chants at a game against Spain, I naively didn't expected that from a civilised country.

Goes to show we've come a long way and we expected all other countries to have too, I'm just glad we're all collectively sickened by it. That's enough for me for now that we're on the right track.

Racism is a bad thing folks. That's why it's popular in backward nations like Serbia and Slovakia where everyone is stupid and uncivilised.

We shouldn't do nothing Just because a punishment doesn't befit a crime. You fine them and ban them until the Serbian FA come up with a road map detailing the active steps they are taking to deal with the problem. Until then, they can live in footballing obscurity.

Like diving and dissent, its never going to stop unless FIFA stop talking about it and doing something about it.

The kick racism out of football is admirable, but it needs to be in conjunction with one strike punishments like making serbia play behind closed doors for the next five years and fining them enough money that they cant laugh it off this time.

At least if Serbia get a ban, it will push the crowd to stop making obvious calls... that should slow other younger people thinking it is acceptable, and very very slowly it will drag that minority into the modern world.

    That's the hope anyway.

They have to be banned if they don't show they are taking strong steps to sort it out, that kind of abuse is unacceptable.

I look forward to the 40k fine to the Serbian FA and a stern telling off form the Headmaster.

They got a 16k fine the last time this happened.

The most telling thing about it, to be honest, from pros down to the man on the forum, no one has any confidence at all that this will be handled in the manner that it needs to be. Football administration is rotten to its core.

The Serbian FA denies any forms of racism towards the England Under-21 team last night and says defender Danny Rose behaved in an "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar manner" towards their fans.

    Nice.

You misunderstand, in Serbia monkey chanting is a sign of affection.

Shocking statement by the Serbian FA. Just shows how far behind us they are in terms of dealing with racisim when they are claiming that it didn't happen when it was obvious to everyone. I hope Uefa and Fifa go hard on them by history shows this is unlikely.

It's hard to make out on the video but apparently they were actually saying "I didn't call you monkey noise".

Distinct lack of width in the England line-up. Only way I can see that working is in a 4312 with the fullbacks overlapping.

I think England will see this out tonight. It looks a tough game and will be but when you compare the overall quality on offer England are ahead. Poloand have one or two good players but I don't see them offering enough to beat England.

3 months out for Borini. He'll be back just in time to lose his place to Darren Bent or Daniel Sturridge or whichever other also ran striker we overpay for in January.

I don't think the likes of FIFA and UEFA should be leading any anti-racism thing. Where are these countries governments in all this?

Anything must be better than Borini though who looks really poor.

England we're pretty dross tonight, but it's a good point. Poland aren't an easy 3 points anymore.

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against the Serbian and English football associations. Won't be discussed until November 22nd.

Not that everyone should be tarnished with the same brush, but the response of the Serbian FA doesn't fill you with confidence.

A long term ban would make a huge difference. Our long term ban in Europe after Heysel completely transformed our footballing culture. And if it doesn't change then ban them until it does. If that's never, then so be it. They never get to play in Europe again.

We English can't claim the higher moral ground on racism now that our standard punishment for racist abuse is a 4 game ban. Pathetic.

I get why they are charging England, there was a bit of a bundle. But waiting until 22 Nov to deal? Nice to know they take it all so seriously. Again.

They're just going through standard procedure, can't be made to look biased.
the proof will be in the pudding. Unfortunately, it will probably be a measly fine.
