    About bloody time x 2

No less than we deserve. Should be up by more even fact.

Not sure about that, only half watching but Swansea seen to have had quite a few decent attempts.

Everton have dominated, although the first goal shouldn't have stood.

Nah... we've dominated throughout. First goal was a handball yeah, but Swansea are lucky to have 11 men.
  • Deleted user 22 September 2012 13:36:24
Have Everton had many attempts? Like I say not really been watching but a fair share of the action seems to have been happening in the Everton box.

Swansea have little threatening spurts but it's been mostly Everton. Moyes's tactics spot on.

Then you haven't been watching. We've been in control, aside from about 10min at the end when Swansea had a couple of pops. Chances... well we always struggle to finish, but obviously haven't for the two goals.

But the second half to come and we're always questionable then, when we let off the gas.

Everton are the best club in Liverpool.

    Discuss.

Don't really think there's much that can be said against that. Moyes finally has them starting a season well. Looking like they could be a real force.

Have to be fairly deluded to think Liverpool are ahead of them at the present time.

Steven Fletcher has had 4 shots this season and he's scored from all of them.

    Wow.

    Hated, adored, never ignored.

Setanta sports coverage is fucking abysmal, appearantly signing Mata, Hazard and Oscar is Chelsea trying to sign the new generation of Xavi, Iniesta and Messi, I mean how do you get paid for spouting shite like that.

We've been pretty average so far. We seem to be playing quick to the strikers which isn't helping much but I assume it's part of Lambert's plans.

This game really isn't one for the football purists, all the chances so far have been from balls lumped upfront and it has been a very tense affair. I do suspect things are going to change in the second half and both teams will start playing it on the floor a little bit more.

Oh and Bent's goal was as scrappy as I've ever seen, otherwise he has been very poor, last to every ball and just standing around with his hands on his head, as always. He's in the right position at the right time and he won the original header in the box so far enough.

I think we're going to need Robin Van Persie at this point ;-)

I'm not so sure, really. That Southampton nearly beat Man Utd seems to have been forgotten by the media. They've played well in nearly every match and indeed, we should have been more than one up at half time and arguably should have scored more in the second half.

It was strange, as soon as their goal went in then we collapsed, fair play to Saints for making us collapse but our defending seemed to fall apart just as the attack got it together.

I do think Lambert fucked up a bit today, he had obviously instructed the players to play a lot of long balls to Benteke and Bent which really didn't work and we were never there for the second ball. Villa haven't been a long ball team for about three season, no reason why that has changed due to one player.

Football is such a stupid game sometimes, last week we'd turned the corner and it was all on the up, this week we're relegated. No doubt we'll beat WBA next week and suddenly we'll be fine again.

Sounds like Martin O'Neill's 8-1-1 formation paid dividends today, got a 1-1 draw at West Ham.

Such negative football, a joy to watch.
