Registered 7 years agoI really don't see either of them taking over, we don't talk to the press so they just make things up. Sure we have lost our first four games, but we could only have realistically expected points in one of those games against Wigan.
I'm fairly sure that at this point last season Swansea hadn't even scored a league goal, while we have scored two against City and United and one against Arsenal.
Our season proper starts against Villa on Saturday. -

Registered 6 years agoIt would seem ludicrously harsh on Adkins to be given the can after the teams they've had to play within the first 4 matches.
They've shown enough under him against City and United to suggest they will get some results against the smaller sides. Of course it remains t be seen if they will get any results but he at least deserves a chance. -

Registered 10 years agoExactly, it's not like Southampton have been hammered (apart from Arsenal).
They've been awesome against Man City and Utd. Surely that must count for something?!Come and get it cumslingers!

Registered 6 years agoAny thoughts on the Liverpool V Man U game this Sunday? Do you think the Man U fans will chant anti hillsborough songs, or have Fergies words done enough for the fans to behave?
I think its gonna be a game full of hate myself. Even without the findings of last week, I still think a lot of attention will be on Suarez and Evra. -

There will always be some unpleasantness, including Hillsborough/Munich. Unpalatable as it is. Fergie pleading isn't going to make a blind bit of difference.

Most United/Liverpool fans I know understand these things are bigger than petty rivalries and put them aside. There will be a small minority, but that's what they are, a small minority. -

Registered 7 years agoWho make the loudest noise, annoyingly.
Like when Forests chairman died, there were barely a dozen derby fans chanting about it, but the dicks managed to get picked up in every match report.---------------------------------------------------------

Registered 6 years agoIt is a shame that some fans think its ok to chant about the loss of human life. I am a Liverpool fan but both clubs are as bad as each other to be fair. Hopefully they wont ruin it for everyone else. -

Interesting game for all concerned, I reckon it's going to be a ragged high energy affair. It would be typical of the Villa side for the last two years to start showing a bit of promise and fluff up the momentum almost straight away but thing might be different under Lambert.

It's the first game this season I've actually been able to go to so I'm just focusing on that at the moment. -
Indeed, I do actually think that this game could go either way because while we looked good against Swansea and dominated the match for the most part, our team is not full of confidence just yet, it took us a good half an hour to start taking control of the game. So, if Southampton were to get a goal early then I'm not sure we'd cope too well.
It's also really early to know what Lambert is going to do, he could change it all around again, he seems to have that habit, so it might not gel at all and we'll be crap again.
I think it's going to be a good game of football regardless of the result. That's kind of what I like about the new Lambert Villa
