Harrys quite lucky in a way. When Roy inevitably gets hounded out the job, Harry will join Clough in the mythical 'greatest england manager we never had' club, a legend without having to do anything.

Considering the tone of the article, it genuinely comes across as them being serious.

Also, I was thinking about this last night, the shortlist for the next English England manager has now shrunk to 0 unless allardyce does something miraculous in the next 4 years.

    Typo there. Did you mean:
    ...like his son?
    Spelling fail.

    I meant looser.

Nigel Adkins will be an established top six manager by then.

Yeah, sorry. Failed attempt at humour there. Back to work for me I think.

Pardew is still in the 'sun shines on a dogs ass' bracket of managers for a while yet imo.

He's got something about him when you hear him speak. Tbh, he seems the closest to a continental manager that the UK has produced. Articulate and introspective I mean..

Yeah, theres still some work to do yet plus they are, arguably, too young to take it.

But, yeah, theres a crop of half a dozen managers who, if they get a big club and do well would be in with a shout.

And therein lies the the problem. Teams would rather appoint a relatively unproven foreign than appoint a similarly skilled english coach.

I mean in 4 years time or whenever Hodgsons contract is up (unless of course they renew it).

Assuming Newcastle make steady progress in that time. Not that I'd want him to be considered (being a supporter), but the reality is that he would be.

    Massive.

Did you know his free kick against Blackburn was the first free kick he's ever taken in the PL?

If any England manager makes it past a four year contract now with the amount the media meddles, it would be a miracle. So yes.

So Rooney needs to score atleast 8 goals against Swansea. You need atleast 4, and another 4 to compensate for the goals City will score against newcastle. It's no good leaving it all to the last match, I reckon 8 is about right, and it has to be Rooney.. Hopefully alex has driven this into his skull.

2 of the last 3 managers have made it to a 4 year stint. Since Bobby Robson there have been several managers throughout the 90s, most getting to around 2-3 years.

The media is no bigger a meddler now than they have been in the last 20 years.

Hold tight, we gotta beat 'em first, which is a tall order itself.

If we do Chelsea and City in the same week Spurs and Arsenal have a duty to lose their remaining games. It only fair.

Has Fergie bought midfield creativity in the past couple of days, oh right it's Swansea, they might score with the old boys then.

If anything is going to happen, it's Man City dropping points. I just don't see Man U firing in enough goals to beat them on goal difference. Losing on goal difference must be infuriating. I wonder if Fergie will see value in the market after this season.

The order of the games could be important this weekend. Arsenal Norwich is the only Saturday game for some reason. Newcastle City is the early Sunday game and then Villa Spurs is later that day. As long as Spurs win then the Liverpool Chelsea prem game on Tuesday is irrelevant which would be sweet cos I wasn't looking forward to being a Liverpool fan for a day.

If Newcastle were to also lose and Spurs win then 3rd and 4th are locked for Arsenal/Spurs but the order could still change on the last day.

It's a shame that Villa don't have a couple more points, they'll have to go for the win although that may actually suit us.

Fuck you Spurs. I was content with us blowing our chances and then you had to go and pull me back in!

Come on Norwich / City / West Brom / Everton!
    Agree with all that.
