Really? I thought they made a big song and dance about his last game of last season (think it involved Palace?)?

What sort of weird ass way did Bellerin go into that challenge with Pogba?

Sick of hearing about how many chances arsenal had what about the 2 mistakes that gave the game to utd. 4 players going into the same challenge.

It's a pretty standard block, you see keepers do it all the time when they are closing down at their near post. It is to prevent the nutmeg essentially.

    Ah, the Duncan Castles defence.

I don't think there's anything in the laws of the game that allows studs up the back of their leg if your opponent is positioned a bit "weird".

Anyway, United fans, are you worried about the derby? I personally can't remember a worse United side than the one last night. Sat way too deep, leaked chances everywhere, couldn't keep the ball, had a man sent off and in the final minutes arguably gave away two penalties. It honestly felt like a game against a championship team yesterday.

The only hope is that City's form seems to be cooling off a bit lately.

At least Castles gets paid for it.

A championship team that beat you 3-1 at your own stadium and sit above you in the table. We have our faults but its far from the worst united team.

If you can't remember a worse United team you're either a child or you have the memory of a goldfish.

Impressive that you can post on a forum either way.

Obviously not. But a defender's leg being positioned in a way that the person challenging had no way of getting the ball and avoiding contact is a bit annoying.

Oh well, rest of the league should be disappointed as the derby is after being made a much easier game for City. They win today and next week and we're at an 11 point gap from 1st to 2nd in December.

@Dougs judging from his other posts I'm not sure that's the intention.

To be fair Dougs, I should have said worst United performance against Arsenal. I wasn't very specific with my words but I find words hard as I'm merely an exceptionally capable goldfish.

I still think my point stands though. 2 goals up, Arsenal with a rejigged backline and 600 million euro worth of talent(compared to Arsenal's 400) felt like they'd gotten lucky and needed to defend the goal as if they were Sheffield United in a cup tie.

For all of Liverpool's defensive faults, they play some great football and City are undoubtedly the best side in Europe at the moment because of their dedication to attacking football. It's just a shame watching a giant of the game like United have such a small club mentality...

Yet we've only scored less than City this season.

Just because our matches aren't 10-7 every week like it's Fifa 99 like Liverpool doesn't mean we're some awful footballing side. It's only because City are having an absurd season we're not top.

Deservedly though, they are playing some bloody good football this year.

So what about that dive / penalty?

It looked like one where the player was on the way down but it’s still surely a penalty. He slides across him completely, was going to make contact irregardless if he wanted it or not.

Interesting read on the fair play league.

Initially I thought it was a good challenge but the replay showed it should have been a penalty.

Got a feeling West Ham are going to get twatted in the 2nd half.

Yeah, City actually have a pair of balls now under Pep so no chance of them dropping points to West Ham. 4-1 I reckon.

Think they said before the game that the odds on West Ham winning were higher than the odds on City winning 6-0, can't have happened too many times before.
