There were some on RAWK arguing that yesterday, claiming he was better.

    I shit you not.

He's a better player than Lallana but is he three times better? Will he get 21 goals and 15 assists? Probably not.

di Maria will be a very good acquisition and any team (bar Real, it would seem) would love to have him. 75mil is excessive, but if you have that money to chuck around...

    @ElNino9

There are some on Redcafe that claim that Welbeck is better than Sturridge, Cleverly is better than Henderson and Jam Jam Jizz is better than Sterling. Most of the people on that RAWK thread said Di Maria is an excellent player but should not be a priority for United right now and is far too expensive. Exactly what everyone here except for you two has been saying even some other United fans.

But, yeah, I' crazy cos Lallana, RAWK etc.

Wow United fans are getting defensive.

If MotD2 was anything to go by then any player who can successfully pass to a team mate more than five yards away is going to be a significant improvement.

Not seen such claims for a long time regarding Cleverley and Welbeck. Januzaj, yeah, I agree, I think he is and will be better than Sterling for years to come.

But seriously, Lallana better than Di Maria? That's RAWK special.

Luckily for Utd they not only have a genius manager to sort this shit out, but they also have all-round brainiac and top human being Ryan Giggs as his wingman

Reminds me of their game against Olympiakos which was one of the worst team performances I've ever seen.

So are we allowed to blame the players yet?

Ryan Giggs must be the worst wingman in the world. "Ryan, where are you? I thought you were coming out tonight to help me get over my wife throwing me out this week? Ryan? That....that sounds like Maureen's voice..."

The entire match was like that. Really painful to watch. United looked like a mid table team not a title challenger.

I think he has more in his locker than Sterling. Based on the bits I've seen of him Sterling runs fast and finishes well but if he can't use his freakish speed then he seems to have no ideas.

Got a good right hook though according to his girlfriend.

Losing that first game of the season is the worst possible thing that could have happened to United. It has absolutely destroyed their confidence and they are playing well beneath themselves. As per last year, they may not have the very best players in the league (and frankly they have at least a couple of them), but they're good enough to beat Sunderland and Swansea pretty comfortably.

It's all quite amusing really :D

Even Moyes managed a bit of the ol' new manager bounce when he turned up. It's absolutely bizarre that they haven't looked remotely better so far. You'd at least expect them to stick a few past Swansea at OT in Van Gaal's first game.

Still think Man Utd with LVG at the helm will come good maybe not this season but it will happen. Signing Rojo and Di Maria are massive plus points and could get the season up and running. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm sticking by my prediction that he'll be gone by next Christmas. Some of the things he's been saying have been very odd (Moyes would have been fucking crucified for saying it would take a "miracle" for United to win the league), and he was already butting heads somewhat with the board during pre-season.

What wonderful logic this is. Maybe we should've bought 3 Lallana's instead so and just play 2 extra players? If you can afford to sign the best of the best you do and Di Maria is up there with the top 10 attacking players in Europe. He had a better season than Bale or Isco last year. Real are absolutely crazy to be selling him and I'd have been extremely jealous had he gone everywhere else. One of the most exciting signings ever in the PL.

Everyone trying to convince themselves that United are fucked is great fun. The backtracking in this thread should be hilarious.

Seems Rojo may struggle to get a work permit, refused at initial hearing and outstanding assault charge in Argentina.

No one will ever be as sexy as Sterling tho. He's such a fine young man. Fine, fine, fine.
