A reasonable example is Chelsea over the last few years. Nothing too extreme, just very solid and no fuss deals. Whereas Man U struggle to even find players to buy over many years and end up buying Fellaini for 30m.

I just thought that Man Utd looked incredibly pedestrian and dull, no imagination at all.

In fact, they reminded me a lot of Villa last season. Yes, THAT bad.

God Utd were awful today. Di Maria is clearly a great signing but I hope (or don't hope actually) you are also looking at centre backs, wing backs and centre midfielders.

Great result for spurs today. Good to see us score a few goals and lamela doing well (my fpl gamble is paying off!). Plus this dier looks pretty tasty.

Not getting too carried away though. There is an inevitable thrashing by Liverpool around the corner.

What do you think this is?! We're not done talking about this Sunday yet!
God damned 6th placed thinking they own the place just cause they came higher than us "smaller" teams.

    :p

    Fellaini 28m
    Mata 37m
    Herrera 30m
    Rojo 16m + a Nani
    Shaw 30m
    Di Maria 64m

    200m in a year.

Wasn't some United fan saying they don't spend much a couple of days ago?

Not into this ice bucket marlarky but Heh, Avb nominated Levy and ambrovich which i thought was class. Levy's actually done it, and nominated Real Madrid President Florentine Perez, ;quoting 'someone who owes this club a lot'

Nice to see another side to levy that not the silent assassin. Actually seems a little david brent

Saw that earlier. Fair play to him, has a humour about him which hasn't ever come across before.

Edit: and fair play Andre for those nominations lol

    Ha, nice.

My 18st brother did it in a mankini. Not a pretty sight, but hilarious.

Brown was always a very, very good defender. Injuries ruined him, though. He was absolutely brilliant at right back in the 07/08 season. After that the injuries took there toll again.

Same with O'Shea. Probably the best utility player we've ever had and makes a mockery of Jones' price tag at this moment in time.

So the BBC are saying 75m for Di Maria. He's a very good player but he's not that good. If he scored 20+ goals a season, then maybe. Ozil looks like a bargain compared to that.

We're going to get taken to the cleaners whoever we buy now, unfortunately. That's the price you pay for pissing about until the last minute and making it quite clear you're desperate.

Pretty much but it seems the very definition of a desperation buy like Mata. You have a number of players like Di Maria, not as good but good enough. But you have one left-back and one right-back and one terrible, misfit defensive midfielder. And you could do with another centre-back too.

Unless Di Maria can put a shift in as a center half, they are desperately seeking the wrong players.
