That Ulloa looks about 50, thought he was the new owner or something

Damn that sorcerer! Twenty gold pieces and Iím wankered on Rohypnol.

"He's from Patagonia you know. They speak Welsh there."

This will not be the last time you hear that sentence this season.

Do you believe in free will Bob? If the decisions we make are influenced by an endless chain of causality, then how can true free will really exist?

Looks like we're getting Manquillo instead of Arsenal. Can't say I know anything about him.
All I've seen is Tony Barret say you're after him (according to sources in Spain). I know nothing about him either, so it's pretty hard to care one way or the other!
Haha, Balague with supposed quotes from Manquillo saying he's chosen Liverpool over Arsenal because he's "not ready to play for a big club yet."

Aye right, that's exactly what he's said, Ballbag, of course
Ha, just seen the account... It's a parody!

One for the Game of Thrones crowd but just seen a brilliant tweet likening Fabregas to Theon Greyjoy. Betrayed the Starks, went back to the Greyjoys who rejected him and now he's just an evil bastard's bitch and a shadow of his former self.

I'm calling him Reek from now on.

As much as I don't like West Brom's new kit, at least it's better than Cultural Leonesa's new kit.

Serge Aurier is moving to PSG, around Ä10m which seems an insanely good deal especially off the back of the World Cup. Suspect Toulouse have bent over a little for them.

Sounding a little anxious, Mr Woodward.

I just don't see that Van Gaal was ever going to be considered before last season's debacle

Poyet's having a moan about Sunderland's transfer policy already. At 25/1 I'm quite tempted to put a few quid on him being the first manager to go this season.

I did worry about our chairmans stance on transfers this summer given that he took a punt on Hughes to take over Tony Pulis' team and give him next to no funds to expand. But Hughes really has taken to this policy, whether it's actually been enforced or not.

He made a good couple of signings last season that didn't break the spine or dynamic of the team, got a number of our supposed plodders to actually play some decent football and got the whole squad to embrace a new philosophy of football, finishing 9th in the process.

He's made some really astute signings before pre-season to get the new lads on board. We've signed Phil Bardsley, Sidwell, Mame Diouff, Dionatan Teixeira on free's and now Bojan for 3 million. It's really shrewd planning. Only downfall's have been Assaidi wanting ridiculous wages, plus the 7 million Liverpool wanted for him (spend most last season injured with a gammy knee) and Palacios failing his medical so we're stuck with that idle shithouse for however long.

I always treat new seasons with trepidation but I think we'll make for an interesting outfit this year. My only our mouth breathing fans don't automatically expect a season as decent as last year was and the new strikers to instantly bang goals in.

@Syrette Is it still going to be a standard channel or are they slapping it behind the paywall to compete with BT Sport?

Who are they going to spend over 86m on then? This all sounds rather hollow. If Hamez is gone for 63m then there is nobody else out there worth that money.

Good point. In that case, I'd suggest they set it aside for Rooney's next wage increase.

    (Ibrahimović? Schweinsteiger? Bring back Ronaldo?)

I can still see Bale eventually ending up at Man U. Not now but possibly in a year or two.

Yeah I fear the same. It's going to be really hard seeing him play for another PL team....

Atletico after Carzola apparently. Can actually see him going now they have an abundance of midfielders.

What has held up their Khedira deal, I thought that was pretty much complete?

I guess they were waiting until JRod was confirmed.

I don't think there's any doubt Khedira is on his way out but I'm not sure he'll come to Arsenal. Long way to go yet though.

Khedira's wage demands are stalling any move. Fee has been agreed for a while. Like Dougs I think he is off but unless he lowers his demands, it won't be to us. Shame as I think he's an amazing, versatile, unselfish, "do any role for the team" midfielder.

That definitely seemed like the position a few weeks ago. Little movement since. Could see him at Chelsea...

    Ergh. Fuck Chelsea.

There's no doubt we need someone in that position. Khedira is one of the best in the world, but I'd be happy with anyone really, just to take the pressure off.

I think we need someone to take over from Arteta/Flamini but not sure that should be Khedira. He's much more than a DM. But if the opportunity is there, we should take it imo...

I'm not even convinced Chelsea would take him on the wages he seemed to want, they seem to do relatively shrewd business nowadays (if only in completely dodgy deals) and Khedira at a bargain made sense despite their other players in the same position but I'm not sure they would break the bank for him.

Saw links to Monaco which could make sense if he cares that much, he may even just see out the end of his contract which will pretty much guarantee him the wages he wants.

For me (heh) Khedira is the player closest to what Yaya does for City, and imho it's more or less the most useful player you can have in a team. They're almost three players in one - defensive, drive attacking play and goalscorers.

If anyone deserves the top wages it's players like them. Amazed these big teams don't see it. Wenger in particular should recognise that value as they had their most successful period with Viera in that exact role, and have never successfully replaced it since (apart from Fabregas kind of).
