Looks like Shaqiri could be going to Roma now, weren't Liverpool supposed to have a deal lined up for him?

Di Marzio claimed for ages that we were in talks but Liverpool ITKs have been saying we lost interest weeks ago.

So deal officially done for Remy. Quite happy with that. Good price, 27 so should have a few years ahead of him and he is quite a skillfull, inventive player. Saw him at Cardiff last season and he was by far the best player on the pitch that day.

At any rate he's a much better option off the bench than Borini, probably Lambert too tbh. Liverpool have a lot of promising AM's so I can't see us getting any other strikers in now.

Still need a marquee singing though, perhaps a world class CB or LB will be enough to keep the fans signing. Would still love to get Shaqiri mind.

Liverpool FC could announce the signing of Stalin's ghost and the Liverpool fans would still be singing

The sources are Italian but the Sunderland journo's have come out to state the deal is done and the player is driving the move ahead.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned it down, he could get a better club in Italy.

Don't think the Italian clubs would be stupid enough to pay that much though

Damn that sorcerer! Twenty gold pieces and I’m wankered on Rohypnol.

It's not that much more than Liverpool paid for him to score goals for Sunderland

They won't, but he and his agent will be thinking that Liverpool will take what they can get. 2 years left on his contract and clearly not wanted.

Vorm to Spurs's bench is a depressingly unambitious career move.

He'll be no.1 when Lloris goes in a year.

A move to Real/Barca/PSG? Have to say I am envious that you landed Lloris in the first place, big fan of his.

Why's he going? Too good for Spurs?

Well, he could play for just about any club in the world. With Casillas being finished and Lopez not being a "name", I'd fully expect Real to come knocking for Lloris next summer.

It'll be a shame. Our player of last season.

    @Tom_Servo

I doubt that - they just bought Keylor Navas.

Did they?! Wow. Missed that. What a World Cup for him, I guess.

Is he meant as their new number one?

Isn't Valdés leaving Barca? Who are they getting to replace him?

Valdes and Pinto both left, they've been replaced with Ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo.

PSG want Lloris and no doubt he'd like to go there. I'm sure he signed a new contract in a "one more year and then loads of money" kind of way a la Bale/Suarez.

Lloris was in awful shaky form for a while around Christmas was he not? I remember his looking particularly brutal against Liverpool..

Yeah I'd be very surprised if he didn't end up at psg. Glad we're getting another year out of him though. Can see a massive transfer fee on that one.

Can you believe some of the people who get paid to write about football?

I don't really see how that's so controversial at the time of the deal.

You get paid to talk about football every day some things are going to come back and bite you on the arse.

Wasn't really an outrageous claim at the time. Sturridge was a pretty poor player until he went to Anfield. It was seen as a gamble from Rodgers, and Liverpool was Sturridge's last chance saloon if he wanted to make it.
