I guess, although this confirms they already recruiting, or at least making certain people aware that the job may well be available.
Not sure it does. He doesn't say that he turned Spurs down because of Utd. From the Guardian:

Van Gaal will start his tenure as Unitedís manager following Hollandís involvement at the World Cup, though the 62-year-old nearly became the Spurs No1 following discussions with Daniel Levy, the chairman, during the winter.

Sounds more like he turned them down before Sherwood got the job.

The plan was always for Sherwood to see out the season (and Van Gaal was always going to take Holland to the World Cup).

He doesn't say he turned down Spurs because of United no, but that's kind of my whole point that you can read that into it.

Probably Twitter bollocks considering we still don't have a manager but apparently Caulker is on his way to Saints.

Laudrup has quite the ego for someone who almost got Swansea relegated.

It's a dick thing to say, but I can kind of see it from his point of view. If he keeps on taking jobs at "smaller" sides then he stops being a manager on the way up, and just becomes a small club manager.

That said, he just hasn't done enough to prove himself to get a job like that.

Sounds like Roy Keane is set to take over as assistant manager to Lambert. Could be a good thing and it does suggest that Lambert is staying in the job regardless of the owner situation.

You are a factory of sadness.

Really? He turned down the Celtic job to carry on with Ireland, so surprising if he then becomes assistant a Villa to me.

Supposedly Villa will allow him to stay on as MoN's assistant manager as well.

Why's everyone after Roy Keane all of a sudden? I swear there's a crazy lemming effect in football.

Ecuador coach names Chris Smalling among Roy Hodgson's best players.

He is literally among them. Doesn't mean he's one of them.

Apparently he wants to spend more time coaching and working his way up towards managment rather than stepping up to the main job.

Has to be better than hanging around with Dixon and Chiles.

Ecuador are pretty decent. Really athletic, but missing a striker. They have played a lot of friendlies in Miami recently.

When they are on song they are pretty scary. Like a team of Wilfred Saha's. They keep piling forward trying to beat their man for pace, but the ball can go anywhere...

I bring bad news. I just heard a rumourfact on the radio that with the departure of Roy Keane from their commentary team, ITV are lining up... John Terry to join them.

    Please say they do!
Only the first game against Italy, then ITV are covering England's next games, so Uruguay, Costa Rica, and the Euro qualifiers.

Fucking hell. Listening to Andy Townshend is enough to make me rage inside. I'd give in watching any football on ITV if that was the case. Townshend is a fucking moron, but relatively harmless. John Terry is just a cunt, and a scummy one at that.

I think I'll do a similar thing to the last world cup and watch the ITV pictures with 5Live commentary.

Honestly... someone get's paid for that sort of thing.
If ever there were a less likely deal to happen I'd like to see it.
