Marouane fucking loves playing in the holding role. When I say holding, I mean making other players hold their faces after another uppercut elbow smash. Isn't exactly what we had in mind TBH.

His elbow on Zabaletta was virtually an assault.

To try and make out it was an accident is pretty despicable if you ask me. Would have been far better served saying nothing at all.

I think this is the end of the Glazers as much as anything else. Fergie allowed them to treat United like a cash cow, but it's obvious they'll need to actually invest in it now, and the profits won't be anything like as attractive.

    Time to sell.
The club will still be a money making machine even if it takes a bit of investment to get back challenging again. Our contract for kit manufacturers is up for renewal and nike, umbro and a Japanese company whose name I forget are all supposed to be very interested even at a 70m p/a price.

Get back in the CL(never mind challenging for titles) and we'll continue to be one of the most profitable clubs in the world.

So looks like Moyes is gone then. What a shame.

I'd be very surprised if he was able to hang on if you lose to Villa at the weekend.

Lose to Villa, Moyes resigns, Fergie comes back and wins his 3rd Champions League, all is right with the world again.

Embarrassed by Bayern, couple of league losses should do it and they will go the mutual decision route to save face after the season ends. There is no way Fergie or anyone there thinks Moyes has the tactics and philosophy to compete with the best. What did they honestly see in him other than work ethic.

His biggest mistake in my mind was replacing all the back room staff. Think SAF even advised against it.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Villa did win on the weekend, it does seem to be the way of things. Although the Stoke match has either caused Lambert to kick some arse or there is no confidence in the team and it'll be timid shit. As I said a few pages back, we are a great team to turn around bad form.

You are a factory of sadness.

Though it's not so much the act of replacing them, it's who he replaced them with - Yes men who we were happy to see the back of at Goodison.

This. Sad to see Moyes go, not sad to see the backroom staff leave with him. Quite happy, actually.

    You had me going there.

Looking more and more like it's all over for him at the end of the season anyway. He just hasn't stepped up and he's only got himself to blame for having such a defeatist attitude and employing small time tactics because he's terrified of losing.

Wenger to step down at end of season. Didn't expect that.

Even if there is no source I half expect that a line like that to be plastered over the back page of newspapers tomorrow.

Looks more likely to happen than not, I'd say. He'd have signed by now if he was staying, been plenty of good moments in the season for the club to announce an extension.

Might try and get in there to steal possible Spurs or Utd managers.

There's no way he'd allow any doubt to enter the equation, it'd derail our season. You might laugh at that now given a fair few supporters would welcome his exit but we've been in the title race and leading it for most of the season so it would have been disruptive to say anything else other than what's been said.
