Also for future reference, using the Daily Star's opinions to validate your own is pretty high on the self-ownage scale.

I disagree on Arteta - Wilshere is definitely a level above him, but he has been overhyped. Happens to most semi-decent English players.

I do rate Wilshere but he's not shown his quality with any real consistency yet, injuries like this one disrupting progress doesn't help.

Arteta has been proving how good he is for years. Wilshere hasn't. Arteta clearly a more accomplished player. And not a total cunt either.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

I didn't notice him, but no change to any other England performance from him.

Yeah true, Wilshere did a step over 2 years ago so he is automatically better than anyone else who doesn't do step overs.

Saying Wilshere is a level above Arteta is utterly ludicrous.

While it would be wrong to say it now, I do think he has the potential to get to that level.

What mythical level is Arteta on around these parts? Solid, mature professional who quietly gets on with job well most of the time, nothing more.

I think they're comparing Arteta in his Everton days, when he was one of the best AMs in the league.

Arteta has a level. Jack can surpass it. He hasn't yet, by virtue of his age, inexperience and injuries.

Henderson is having a good season, credit to Rodgers for getting the best out of him.

Amazing that Gerrard is topping the chances created considering his role this season and I'd expect Jack and Barkley to have worse pass completion rates because of what they do in their respective teams.

I agree, just going off natural talent I think Jack is a level above Arteta but hasn't produced top form consistently yet, that could be down to injuries or immaturity or whatever, I don't know. I do think his high's are higher than Arteta's though.

I think you are right. Comparing the Arsenal version or Arteta is not really fair as he is been played out of position.

Saying Wilshere is better makes someone sound like a blinkered Arsenal fan that never saw him at Everton.

It is like saying Beckham was better than Cristiano Ronaldo having never watched a Real Madrid match.

He had a great season at Everton, outside that I wouldn't have considered him one of the best AM's in the league but a good one - to be fair he was hit by a few injuries too.

He is playing an unnatural role but I don't think he's good enough to be an effective AM now. He has been an excellent professional for us, consistently reliable, doing his job without fuss and responsibly.

Naw, c'mon you don't have to do stuff like that, let's be big boys and girls.

Couldn't take penalties for shit with us. Although he had more than one good season. But hey,  if you didn't watch,  there's no convincing.
