Wouldn't be surprised to see Meulensteen back coaching at United before long.

Football Gold on Sky Sports 2, Man Utd 4-3 Man City game.

I'm not a Utd fan but fucking hell even I was celebrating Owen's winner like it was live, haha!

Most obvious thing though was what a different Utd side that was in terms of how they generally played compared to now.

The timing of it is very strange, they seem to have been picking up a bit. should have got at least a draw against Liverpool. Maybe the new technique is to just have a new manager bounce for the entire season.

Magath is a good short term manager, it's only when he's at a club more than a year that it seems to go south, presumably when the players get fed up of all the hard training.

One year with Stuttgart, developed a future championship winning team. Three years with Bayern, won two domestic doubles. Two years at Wolfsburg, took a shite side to the title.

Wayne Rooney is expected to sign a new five-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester United this week that will increase his wages to about 300,000 per week.

The 28-year-old England striker is close to committing his future to the Old Trafford club until June 2019, with an outline agreement having been reached between club and player.

Rooney joined United from Everton in August 2004. His current deal runs until summer 2015 and is worth 250,000 a week.
Third time lucky eh. I can really see him becoming a fat injured waste of space after the World Cup.

    Sturridge is awesome:

Heartbroken. I hate losing. Trying to keep my spirits high even though I'm struggling. I'm keeping the faith... #redordead #dstudge

I like how he then hashtags himself as if trying to get himself to trend.

Glad we didn't have to suffer him dancing today.

But his tweet was so heartfelt!

Bet Faux and half of RAWK just want to give him a hug right now.

Because we don't think he's amazing for feeling the same way most players feel? Think it's T-shirt time at Anfield.

What about those players who are so heartbroken they can't even muster the strength to type out a tweet? They're quivering at home under their blankets. Inconsolable. RvP gets so emotionally distraught he can't play. Uber awesome.

I look away when he scores so I don't have to see it - same with Bale's 'heart' celebration, and also whenever someone does that 'baby-thumb' thing.. Maybe it's irrational hatred or something, but it just feels too staged and self-indulgent. A good celebration is a great big hug with team mates or someone just losing it and celebrating like a mad man. Oh yes, Adebayors salute is also starting to grate.

    /angry old man rant over

The only celebrations I liked seeing over and over were the likes of Martins backflips because you know they take some serious skill.
