So is that four managers for Fulham now? I suppose we need all the help we can get.

As a manager, Magath quickly gained respect and became notorious for his hard, grinding training methods, laying heavy emphasis on discipline, fitness and conditioning. Players gave him nicknames like "Saddam" (Saddam Hussein) or “Quälix”, a rhyming mash of his first name Felix and the German verb “quälen” (to torture).[6] He was once described by former Eintracht Frankfurt player Bachirou Salou as the "last dictator in Europe".

Sounds like Berbatov got out just in time.

nice guys finish last, think that is clear by looking at the bottom and top teams, Magath sounds like something from the Tolkien universe

    Meulensteen:

I knew the owners were freaking out a little bit that there was the possibility of the club going down.

The way forward that we have discussed with the club was about longevity and in this case it is clearly an act of fear.

I have not had a lot of time and people who came to the Manchester United and Liverpool games could see what I was trying to put in place.

I couldn't care less what they put in the statement, to be honest.
They've made a very poor decision IMO, they were much improved in recent games and Meulensteen was still bedding in his new players - that £12m striker he wanted hadn't even recovered from injury yet FFS.

Bringing in a new manager that's never worked in this country, will try to impose a new philosophy on the players and probably doesn't speak the language is a much bigger gamble than trusting Meulensteen. Can't see them getting out of the Championship in a hurry if they go down.

Similarly, Juande Ramos was very critical of Daniel Levy and the Spurs set up in the Guardian today: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/13/juande-ramos-tottenham-hotspur-dnipro

They were probably hoping to time the sacking after thrashings by man utd and liverpool, little did they know he would actually gain some positive momentum from those games

Wouldn't be surprised to see Meulensteen back coaching at United before long.

Football Gold on Sky Sports 2, Man Utd 4-3 Man City game.

I'm not a Utd fan but fucking hell even I was celebrating Owen's winner like it was live, haha!

Most obvious thing though was what a different Utd side that was in terms of how they generally played compared to now.

The timing of it is very strange, they seem to have been picking up a bit. should have got at least a draw against Liverpool. Maybe the new technique is to just have a new manager bounce for the entire season.

You are a factory of sadness.

Magath is a good short term manager, it's only when he's at a club more than a year that it seems to go south, presumably when the players get fed up of all the hard training.

One year with Stuttgart, developed a future championship winning team. Three years with Bayern, won two domestic doubles. Two years at Wolfsburg, took a shite side to the title.

Wayne Rooney is expected to sign a new five-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester United this week that will increase his wages to about £300,000 per week.

The 28-year-old England striker is close to committing his future to the Old Trafford club until June 2019, with an outline agreement having been reached between club and player.

Rooney joined United from Everton in August 2004. His current deal runs until summer 2015 and is worth £250,000 a week.
Third time lucky eh. I can really see him becoming a fat injured waste of space after the World Cup.

I like how he then hashtags himself as if trying to get himself to trend.

Glad we didn't have to suffer him dancing today.

Because we don't think he's amazing for feeling the same way most players feel? Think it's T-shirt time at Anfield.

What about those players who are so heartbroken they can't even muster the strength to type out a tweet? They're quivering at home under their blankets. Inconsolable. RvP gets so emotionally distraught he can't play. Uber awesome.
