Don't follow football that much. Highlights every now and then and scraps of news on twitter etc. Ice hockey's my sport.

I know the Swansea manager got sacked, that's all.

You're absolutely correct. Doing a big ironic cheer at the final whistle, standing up applauding them as loud as we could and running and jumping around in the stands like we'd just won a trophy would have a much bigger impact.
I think the booing had more to do with the lack of ambition going forward in injury time rather than the result itself.

We got a similar result against chelsea after losing badly to man city. Arsenal seem more consistant against teams outside the "top four" than others which is why we could pull it off.

It's manutd.com but any united fans interested in the interview Moyes did on BT here it is.

Like I said, was a lot better than most of the recent interviews I've heard him giving.

Spurs have taken 23 points out of 30 under Sherwood. Decent run eh.

Yeah, not too shabby. Adebayor's a key part of that.

Up until last night, I thought it would be a straight fight between Liverpool and Spurs for the Champion's League spot.

Now a little part of me is starting to think they'll both qualify.

He's in great shape for a 41 year old if thats true.

He doesn't look 41 to me, neither does he particularly look 17 obviously. Some people look older from a young age but hard to know here as obviously there is history of there being more than a few dodgy birth certs coming out of some African countries.

I have this dream, more a wild fantasy really. But just imagine the Dippers faces if they finished fourth and by some amazing fluke of fortune United won the champions league.

It would make the complete bollox that has been Moyes first season all worth it.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility. Both the Liverpool and Chelsea teams that won the chapions league had vast amounts of luck and were pretty poor overall.

Please God make it happen. It's all I've got left to cling onto. :).
The Liverpool team didnt win by luck. Have you looked at what they did winning the champion league that season? Plus they were not poor, not sure what champions league you were watching that season

Edit: Well apart from the chelsea game

Yea, I'm waiting for his inevitable slump. He's lasted way longer than anyone would have predicted this time though.

He's such a confidence player though, and Sherwood seems to have given him that. He also needs some kind of motivation. He can sustain it for a season, then starts to get to get bored or something. Weird.
  • Deleted user 13 February 2014 09:49:35
    Actually playing him certainly helps.

And his "slump" last season is starting to look more and more like AVB's doing rather than his, given it doesn't seem to matter who plays up front under his system, you still never score goals.

I understand why you say that but it's far more likely that he is the problem given the same thing has happened to him at every club he's played at.

I will be massively surprised if he stays interested/motivated and scoring right through to the end of this season, never mind into the next.

Maybe he's changed his stripes this time but we've seen it before.

Chelsea won the champions league by luck though.

We're not going to win it though. I'm not even sure we can beat Olympiakos.

It would make up for an extremely shit season though if we at least got to the semi's.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Not really. They won it by, ironically, employing 19th century tactics incredibly effectively.

A penalty miss by Robben and then going on to winning it on Penalties isn't luck?

    Ok.

There's no doubt he's an awkward character and he will always give you the odd bit of trouble every now and then.

But I do think he's a proper footballer who loves the game and wants to play it. I've never agreed he's "lazy" as so many like to call him, and he's not a player who just wants the wages which is another label incorrectly attached.

Tim and him seem to respect each other and I think as long as Sherwood is manager he'll continue to perform.
