Of course it's about Mata, he wouldn't have said anything if United had signed Jason Puncheon.
Well he's clearly using Mata as an example to demonstrate his views on the January transfer window (which he's already made in the past).

The truth is, on the basis that Jose wouldn't sell us Ba to strengthen us even though he has no use for him, he almost certainly wouldn't be selling Mata if they hadn't played United already.

It's a dirty move and is pure Jose. Also shows his general short sightedness as though United may not be a threat this season, Mata could become the cornerstone to rebuild a stronger and more threatening United next season and beyond. But of course, Jose probably won't be around by then.

It's all about short term with him.

I wouldn't worry, from Mourinho's comments it looks like it's as good as done.

Yeah pretty much this. Plus I reckon he still has his eye on the Utd job so wants to keep them sweet.

Would be funny if Moyes got the sack and Jose jumped ship to Utd. The reaction of the Chelsea fans would be priceless :)

    Mata transfer delayed apparently.

Guardian Manchester football correspondent Jamie Jackson on Twitter: "Mata transfer delayed. More soon."

Woodward has flown out for urgent business again... Maybe this time he's signed up an official pencil partner.

He's out on urgent transfer business.

Early rumours suggest he wants to transfer an actual chin onto his face.

Journos are all over the place to be honest. Some saying it has been delayed, some saying it has gone through and is to be announced in due course. I'd fucking love to be paid for outright making shit up like 99% of these guys do. Good money if you can get it.

Says a lot about the financial advantage a couple of teams in this league have when United's potential record signing is a Chelsea sub.

Makes it easy when your "inside club source" could be anyone from the work experience tea boy to the apprentice groundsmen.

"Chelsea have given the Spain international permission to travel to Manchester for a medical, but United will not let that go ahead until Chelsea have signed off the deal."

Also says they won't sign off until they've got Salah which should be finalised in a couple of days. After he agrees personal terms, completes a medical and gets a permit.

Confirmed by Utd subject to medical and personal terms.

Andy Gray returns to the commentary box for BT tomorrow. He had no right.

Gray has been less of a twat when I've seen him on beIN, but still a desperate move by BT.

Delighted with that signing. If we can hold on to the good players we do have and add a few more we'll be right back up there son enough.

So Chelsea are selling their best attacking player because he doesn't defend enough. Ha.

Bizarre. Truly bizarre. I really can't work Mourinho out. Is he a Trojan horse? That or he hates Liverpool as much as the next bloke.

Not seen this mentioned here, but I'm guessing I missed ithttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/10596260/Julian-Draxler-aims-to-seal-36m-move-to-Arsenal.html (Draxler signing for Arsenal )

Actually, it does ring a bell now I read he's injured and has a 37 mill buy out
