To be fair, if we stuck a crate of that drink somewhere on the pitch, it would probably be a more effective signing than Bebe.

Story on The Guardian about dressing room unrest at United. Never a good sign when stories start being leaked to the press.

Also The Independent (I think) saying Rooney is considering his future again.

At this point, the crate would be considering its options too.

Is there supposed to be some sort of protest tomorrow that might affect the Spurs game?

Rooney has only 18 months left on his contract. It would take something pretty spectacular to keep him at United beyond the summer.

He can warm the bench at Goodison, for a pay cut.

There can't be many teams willing to pay him 300K a week and don't see him playing outside of England. Chelsea or bust. Won't sign before World Cup, drags it out after, Man U won't sell to Chelsea, fat sad Rooney isn't fit until November, January tantrum, agrees deal with Chelsea for following season.

Hehe, Utd have tried to trigger a buy back clause in Daehli, but he's decided to move to Cardiff City. How the mighty have fallen :p.

@Dougs Highly rated Norwegian player who came Utd's youth setup.

Defoe has always been a nearly-man in the Premiership but against weaker opposition he's a goal machine, I'd put a fiver on MLS top scorer if I were a betting man*

    *is a betting man

This might not be the most appropriate thread for this question, but does anyone know of a good place to buy retro football shirts? A decent reputable online retailer of some kind? I've got the sudden urge to buy a Brasil 82 Socrates shirt...

Robbie Savages appraisal of the United squad.

    He's 100% for me.

Just seen nicktheguns post but I still agree.

So Jelavic to Hull. Remember when he was better than Suarez?

Not sure I remember anyone saying that.  Some deluded Toffees maybe, but no one I've seen definitely  not here anyway.

He was performing better from a goalscoring perspective at one stage, so that is probably what he's thinking of.

He scored for fun when they arrived at the same time that Jan window, loads more than Suarez, then fucked his leg on a post against Newcastle at the start of last season and has never been the same. Remember those incredible stats about his goals:touches ratio? I think our club is cursed for strikers.

As for Suarez, he's done alright.

    See also: Papis Cisse.

Jelavic just looked a finisher though, Cisse was scoring worldies nearly every week and it never felt like he would keep it up.

I honestly thought Jelavic would continue and go onto to be a consistent 20 goal a season striker.

    We did too :(

Best of luck to him, he'll get the playing time he needs to get back to form.

I actually think we shouldn't let him go; should stick by him. But I'm not the manager, I don't see him in training, so wtf do I know? That post incident against Newcastle seems to have been crucial.

All the best. Hope he does very well, as long as it isn't against us.

Yea he's definitely one of those that could come back to haunt you. I think he is better than his last seasons form would show.

Always the fear when letting a well liked player go though isn't it.

Speaking ahead of Man United's home match against Swansea on Saturday, Moyes feels it is "just another game".
Leader, inspirer and motivator, all in one.

Getting 5+ million for Jelavic at this stage in his career, considering his form, is great!

Almost as good as getting 6m for Anichebe.

My main concern is whether we have a replacement lined up, as Lukaku still looks exhausted and there are no other forwards other than Velios and Kone (out for the season) at the club.

I'm sure it hasn't gone unnoticed, but we also don't rely on our strikers for goals. It's not our style. If it's good enough for Spain, then I'm happy for us to give it a whirl.
