If you have a video ref, you'd be able to do exactly that though. Game stops, video ref checks, call it and the game carries on. These discussions really exist because it's not the right calls being made.
Pertinent point bolded. Honestly, fuck that.

Theres nothing wrong with football as it is, leave it alone.
Like I previously stated though. The game stops now regardless. Why do you think it's rare to see a game have under 3 minutes of extra time despite no injures nowadays? The clock on the boards might not stop, but someone is recording those minutes between the whistle stopping and starting the game.
Thats completely different from deliberately stopping the game to consult a video ref and completely unnecessary.
I don't see why the ref can't play a sort of advantage and then let the video ref call back play as he sees fit. Surely that would suit football more.

Fellaini and Rooney are a third of that.

Other recent big one was Arteta for 10mil. The rest, bits and pieces. Like off-loading cack onto WBA for 6mil.

Lacina Traore is going to West Ham on loan from Monaco (who he's just signed for).

£16m for a player Monaco clearly don't even need right now.

Strange that you don't see Platini moaning abut that, Monaco or PSG in general , isn't it?

Monaco are such a weird team. They get like 8k attendance a week in an 18k stadium. I know some people have more money than sense but I just cant comprehend the point of shovelling money into a club like that. Its never going to go anywhere.

And thats before you get to the mercenaries who have gone there to play in front of three men and a dog every week. It must be a terrible place to play even if you treat football as just a job.

But feck, he's actually good. Would've loved him as a loan to arsenal.

Maybe I just romanticise them because Hoddle went there when I was a kid, and that made me support them, but I've always seen them as quite an illustrious club.

If it's the guy I think it is he hasn't looked good when I've seen him. Big, but not that good.

Monaco are a very successful prestigious club to be fair. It's hardly QPR.

Its a bit of History FC there. They have done nothing but get relegated and sack managers in the last ten years as far as I can tell.

But, again, they get 8k attendance. I just cant imagine that being enough for a top level footballer.

Nevertheless, it's quite a unique and "special" club. The stadium itself is seen as exclusive rather than small. I'm not saying players don't go there for the money to some degree, but I can see the appeal. It's a club that has a special name in football and one that players would probably be proud to say they played for. They've had a lot of very big name players over the years.

A footballer's lifestyle in Monaco must be about as close to everyone else's in Monaco as you'd get anywhere in the world.

Weird to think now, but it wasn't all that long ago that they were in a Champions League final (when they got beat by Mourinho's Porto, I think).

It's not much of an argument really, it's freaking Monaco, one of the most desirable places to live in the world.
And their size is small as much with everything else, it's a small exclusive place.
I'd guess they don't have prawn sandwiches over there, that's for sure.

Bloody hell, apparantly the Man City first team were due to play a friendly in Dubai on Jan 14th to open some stadium or other.

    Winter Break indeed.
