I would be surprised. Watford have been fucking shite this year.

I think he has fallen on his sword rather than quit to get a new job.

No, just lamenting the loss of top club player managers.
Can't think of any top ones?
Ruud Gullit, Vialli, Hoddle, Souness, Dalglish, Dennis Wise (OK I'm pushing it now).

    Still.

Awful run of form of late, but did well last season for them. Strangely his odds came in to 2/1 on Betfair for the Spurs job for a brief moment - people not really thinking straight there.

They did well by virtue of being the Udinese B team.

    What a strange decision.

Spurs are only 8 points off the top.

There are very few top class managers available right.

There will be a lot of very good managers without a job after the World Cup.

AVB should've got until the end of the season at least. I think he knew he was going to be sacked by his expression during yesterday's game. He looked devastated at half time.

I'd agree with Dalglish, Vialli, and maybe Hoddle.

And yes, Wise is pushing it!

To be fair they signed a lot of those players on permanent deals at the end of the season.

I feel a bit sorry for him, but then i think he's just got a 4.5 million pay-out from Spurs and i'm pretty sure i remember reading he had a 9 million pay-out from Chelsea.

Dont start a whip-round for him just yet......

Sorry to use the old 'I go to the games so I know better' but the football we played under AVB was atrocious! Last season was a false position because of Bale. He really had no plan B if A was going wrong. Personally I don't like the director of football setup and Harry was right in wanting rid of it before he took over but surely AVB had agreed on this setup before taking the job.

Rafa would do a great job with this Spurs squad. Thankfully he's doing well with Napoli.

Dalglish would be amazing karma for the Spurs fans on here :-P

Levy's the safest pair of hands in the business; even if his managerial signings haven't quite worked out he's still keeping Spurs in contention (and away from a Leeds or Portsmouth style death spiral) without needing massive injections of outside cash from kleptocrats and oil-rich, come to think of it the oil guys are kleptocrats too.

Speaking of Dalglish, Hoddle has done nothing for eight years. Why is everyone so desperate to get him back?

And unlike Dalgleish, Hoddle didn't do much first time around.

I do, as covered a few pages ago, believe that had hoddle not been hounded out of the england job, we would have reached at least a final by now.

AVB always came across as a whiny bitch. At Chelsea you kind of let it slide because you imagine the owners must be a serious pain in the arse, tho no sympathy for going there. Yet at Spurs he was still bitching.

His first clue that levy was going to give him the bullet was that he had to park his car with the academy kids this morning.

Guess it's the manner they lost that's the killer, not the losses themselves. Still ahead of Utd and just behind the top four.

Di Marzio saying Tim Sherwood is taking over at Spurs - part time I can imagine, but he seems to think full time?

Just a shame his man management skills are shite. Although, with age, he may be better in that regard now.
