I suppose Hoddle and Klinsmann are both 'available'.

The writing was on the wall as soon as he started slagging off the fans to be honest.

I don't think it's the fact that they have lost a few either, it's the manner of the defeats they have had. They've been absolutely hammered on more than one occassion this season, including a bit of a humbling from West Ham a little further back than the 2 most recent notable losses. He doesn't seem to be able to change a game. Well, he doesn't seem to be able to change anything at all to be honest. If plan A in a match isn't working, you can pretty much bet a team under AVB is fucked.

The more I think about it, the funnier it gets.

I think its a good decision personally, I'm normally for managers being given more time, but I just don't think AVB is a very good manager. Certainly not in premiership anyway.

AVB looked certain to go when he was asked about the players being his signings and said I can't talk about that. He wanted the boot or less of the blame at least.

    AVG has been uninstalled.

    Sad.

He wasn't really given a chance to prove you wrong on that.

We're about 1/3 of the way through the season following him losing the best player in his squad and having about 6 - 7 new players arrive who need to bed in. The team were in a decent position in the league. Ok they lost a couple of games with heavy defeats but Jesus Christ it was against City who are majestic at home and Liverpool who were brilliant yesterday.

Ok you can argue Spurs were rubbish, because they were but you have to give the manager more time than that. It's so reactionary and stupid. Do they have someone lined up to replace him? Even if they do, it's going to take time for them to stamp their mark on the team too.

It also means he likely was under pressure last time after only one or two lacklustre defeats which is even more crazy.

I think Levy is genuinely wrong on this one. For a smart man this decision is baffling for so many reasons.

I cannot believe the stat that if he won yesterday they were joint second. Football is seriously fucked.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

Im pretty sure there was more going on behind the scenes than this being the result of two savage humpings.

There would want to be really because to the casual observer it seems totally crazy.

They would not have been. They would have had 30 points which would have left them in 6th.

Capello the early favourite to replace AVB. Surely he won't leave Russia 6 months before a World Cup?

Bale saved Spurs many times last season. Made the team look a lot more creative and lethal than they really were. Chelsea under AVB was just like Spurs now without Bale to cover the major flaws. He isn't a great manager and hasn't improved.

Sorry!! Made a mistake, they would have been 3 points from second and 5 from the top of the league, and considering Chelsea face arsenal next Monday they could have closed the gap. Think they should have waited until January tbh.

    Hehe.

I still don't see the justification for the sacking.
What was their goal? Top 4? If so, are they still in the running for top 4? Yes. So why then?

I have this sneaking suspicion Levy genuinely thought Spurs had a squad capable of contending for the league.

Ouch. Disappointed but certainly not surprised. Really not sure who they will bring in tbh. I'd be surprised if levy would sack him without a replacement lined up.

AVB leaves Spurs with the highest win percentage of any Spuds manager since 1899.

I do tend to think there is a bit more going on than it first appears, a couple of bad results doesn't usually equal such a quick sacking. Feel a bit sorry for him but he hasn't been shafted quite as badly as at Chelsea.

Maybe Jono's prediction of Villa and Spurs swapping managers was correct!

You are a factory of sadness.

    @The-Bodybuilder

Don't forget that he was slagging off the fans, and yesterday slagged off the director of football / transfer structure.

I think a lot of it would have simply come down to the fact that AVB comes across as a smug, self righteous twat and Levy just couldn't get along with him. I mean would you want to work with him? You'd want to punch him in the face every day.
