To be fair... we were saying that when Nigel Clough got sacked. Who was going to come in and how would they do a better job than him with the resources he had?

Put your pocket money on capello taking the reigns and spurs qualifying for the CL.

Is this a rumour, or genuine news?

What a ridiculous decision. Forced to sell his best player and not given a full season to try to readjust. Still think he will eventually have a very successful career.

The daft thing is, their Europa campaign has been superb.

... I think this is a reactionary sacking rather than waiting to see how things go by the time the January window opens.

God, football is really crap sometimes.

It's on the Spurs site and BBC, pretty legit.

I like him and feel sorry for him, but I'll cheer myself up by rewatching yesterday's highlights :p

lets be honest, when you are spending 20m - 30m on half a dozen players, you expect them to be able to play a bit of football.

If AVB cant get a song out of £100m worth of talent, he needs to take the rep for it. They looked an absolute shambles yesterday.

Only second to frank beretell. Who managed us in the late 1800's. ;)

Also we had more points (Well one more point) than we did last season after 16 games.

More of the blame lands with Baldini for players for me.

Exactly what I was thinking. I can't really think of anyone else - Simeone, perhaps? I can't imagine Klopp leaving Dortmund at this stage - unless it's to replace Moyes.

Just heard and my first thoughts are: madness.

    Absolute, total and utter madness.

yet another "season of transition" for Spurs now, how can Levy or any fan see this as the best option?!

Fucking mental for two bad results.

Harry Redknapp has called on Tottenham to be patient with Andre Villas-Boas after Sunday's 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool piled the pressure on the Spurs boss.

"I think people are over-reacting too quickly," the former Spurs manager told Talksport. "You lose a couple of games now and you're in trouble, it shouldn't be like that. You either think somebody is good at their job or not and when you appoint someone you should give them time and let them do the job.

"I'm sure Villas-Boas will pull through it, if you give him time they will come back. It's far too early for people to start wanting to pull the plug on him, you've got to give him time and see what he can do."
