Rumors are that Dempsey might be on his way to Villa on loan. Be an excellent addition, although I Ann cynical about the likelihood of it happening tbh.

You are a factory of sadness.

They said on Football Weekly that Klinsmann is encouraging his players to get loans in Europe if possible ahead of the World Cup so it's not totally absurd.

Would be very happy if it were to happen.

I meant that I think he will have other suitors with more cash to throw at him. If not then yeah. He may end up playing for us, if he performs like Keane did then I would be very happy.

If it wasn't for Keane, we would have been relegated by top man McLeish.

Didn't Dempsey turn us down last year thinking someone else was coming in for him?

Yeah, Keane was very important indeed.

I thought he turned us down due to money and the US opportunity.

You are a factory of sadness.

Yeah dempsey would be great signing for you guys. Shame he never really fitted in at spurs. No doubting his quality though.

For those who haven't seen it:
Ravel Moreison's unbelievable goal in training

Would go nuts if Moyes went all out transfer muppet and went for him in January.

Would he try that in a proper game when he's being marked and defenders are trying to get the ball? If so he's a twat; if not he's a twat for doing that instead of training properly. Twat.

    A fantastic goal, yes.

... but the likelihood of scoring that in a proper match is very slim.

I hope he goes to Arsenal or Spurs to be honest!

I think Ravel Morrison is better off sticking at West Ham for a year or so getting a good run of Premier League appearances under his belt and keeping his ego in check. That's better for his development than being on the fringes of the squad at a bigger club, and considering Ferguson sent him away from Manchester because of his personal problems it might be a bit of a risk for them to buy him back.

He should go to Liverpool eventually, it's miles from Manchester ;)

Why? What's wrong with him playing for West Ham?

I'd rather the quality was shared throughout the league, than all the best (not saying Morrison is anywhere near the best, but he has potential) playing for Man Utd/City, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool.

    @Syrette

I was only winding up Mr. RedDevil!

... truthfully, he is indeed better off at a West Ham for another year or so. Until someone poaches him, of course. Hopefully not Chelsea or either of the two Manchester teams.

New record goals total for England U21s against a San Marino side that actually managed to beat Wales a couple of months ago, very nice finish for Sterling's second goal.

Can't believe Hodgson has put Cleverly back into the England team when people like Henderson, Barkley and Morrison are all younger, better and playing more games at the top level. Likewise Smalling could end up getting more game time at CB for England this season than he has for Man U, he hasn't really managed to give the impression that he is good enough for either team.

Chris Smalling hasn't given the impression that he's good enough for United?

I have it in my head that Smalling is good but doesn't get a consistent showing.

Is he not behind Vidic, Evans, Ferdinand and Jones in the pecking order for United? He's a 23 year old 6' 5" center back who is getting most of his game time at right back.

I know he still has some potential to develop, but right now starting in an England game against Germany...

Needs must. United are desperately short at right back, and once Rafael gets injured, we have to revert to using Jones or Smalling.

As good as they were, Vidic and Ferdinand are spent. I doubt you'll see the two play together an awful lot anymore - certainly not in they'd big games, they simply don't have the legs. Personally, I actaully prefer Smalling to Jones at CB, he's much more positionaly aware than Jones is at the moment. He's proved plenty times that he's good enough to play for United, despite being played out of position. At 23, he and Jones will be the preferred partnership in the coming years.

Shitting bricks. We have Sunderland at home and it all depends on whether Stoke turn up for the occasion. If we go behind, we'll be fucked. If this game was at the end of the season, it'd be on Sky.

Interested to know the thoughts of any Mackem's if there's any on here? I'd look on RTG but it's a bit of a cesspit there.

Not really but probably the best chance we've had to get a result there in years.

Can't see us getting anything against City.

Although I'm still in shock that we actually go into this game above them in the league. Having only scored about 2 goals.

Saints beat Liverpool at Anfield, it can be done. I think a score draw is likely though.
