There are quite a few pundits who have abandoned management after proving to be fucking useless.

Ha, I'd forgotten about Merse at Walsall. Dismal. Although I guess that was my point.... There aren't many established pundits that jack it in for management. Quite a few tried managing and we're dreadful, so took the easy street. All have bills to pay I suppose.

Easy street maybe, but it's what I'd do. Fair play. Management is a miserable career choice.

Same, I don't get the lust for it.
Most players will end up managing at the lower regions anyway, whilst still spending equal amounts of time away from their family.

It's sad because most of them just don't know how to exist outside the football bubble, so will always find something to keep them in.

I'd prefer a part time media gig making millions and then just being semi-retired.

It boggles my mind that Edgar Davids is managing in the Conference.

Its a weird arrangement, though. He does it for free so quite often he doesnt even bother to turn up for games.

Can a mod remove "the" and "all-new" from the thread title, please? Completely superfluous.

    And "thread"

Surprised Ollie has given up without a fight. Palace could do a lot worse than Tony Pulis. We we're also little more than a Championship team when we came up, made some astute signings (as well as with a few shitters- but that's already covered with Chamakh) and kept us up with relative ease but slowly deteriorating football.

Those first three years we played a better mix of football, especially the Semi Final season in 2011. It was only the last two seasons we really did digress.

Whether or not he could keep Palace up now starting on the back foot, who knows, but wishing for Zola or Di Matteo is quite bizarre.

It was weird. His statement was, pretty much, 'im shit and i cant be arsed. they can afford someone better now'.

I honestly think he's borderline manic depressive. Love him to bits (obviously) and hope he has a while away from the game. He's a very rich man now, he doesn't need the hassle.

Think it was more of him realising how much crap he'd signed and that he'd rather jump ship than drown in it.
Parish also needs to take some of the blame for the complete lack of direction that they've had since being promoted.

I think whoever comes in will have a rough time of it because of the strange setup of the squad.

Funnily enough this was one of the first thread titles to get altered in the dark days of oppression that are now known as Hairygate. Obviously my reaction has been to start numerous threads on the subject, start a twitter campaign and of course mention it incessantly in here, because it's that significant and that much of a big deal.

It should have been obvious I was being sarcastic, but seeing as many people have reacted in exactly that way, I can see why there was confusion.

The press giving him praise for his 'honesty' in saying he spent far too much money on shit players is a little ridiculous.

Running around shouting about how crap you are at your job then getting pats on the back for it shouldn't be a thing.
Those are past mistakes though, and admitting to those is usually a good thing. It's not like he's saying he'll continue to spend too much money on shit players.
