Saw that he was linked to the Middlesbrough job as well - surely he's well past it now, how longs it been since he was a Manager?

Managers who don't get the jobs these days:

    Alan Curbishley
    Graeme Souness

    Any others?

Speaking of Stickman, clough is a good, sensible appointment.

    He totally called it

    In a similar vein

Really love the picture there too. Must be great fun being a photo editor on the football sites.

Daniel Taylor: Interesting line gone under radar, from Ferguson book, on MUFC pretty much refusing to deal with Spurs any more because of Daniel Levy

    Ha!

Oh noes, what will we do if Man U don't unsettle and buy our best players? They sure showed us.

McLeish to Palace. He'll sort them out.

You'll just have to sell them for more money to Real.

Or keep them, I suppose that's always an option.

And if we want one of their players, we can just get some foreign club to buy them cheap for us under their noses.

Gotta be Tony Pulis or McLeish with the press conference refering to someone 'defensive'.

Palace were terrible but I was impressed with their fans who were loud and travelled in numbers. Feel sorry for them if they are going to be stuck watching Pulis football for the rest of the season.

Yeah, I'm really chuffed about it. First manager we've appointed since Warnock that I've been happy with. Hopefully we give him some time. I don't know many fans who wouldn't be happy with just consolidating this year and trying to sort it out next summer.

    Bad omen for arsenal.
We needed a gimme after our loss yesterday, anyplace were a guaranteed 3 pointer.

Now they're gonna wanna impress the new manager.

It has occured to me that it is always annoying when a player scores a stunner against your side as you have to watch it on adverts and motd for most of the next season. The Van Persie strike is a perfect example.

You are a factory of sadness.

I sometimes wonder if any of the pundits who haven't managed before would make good managers. Alan Hansen could do quite well I reckon, but he'd perhaps be too defense orientated.

    Lawro would be awful.

    Linekar would be good imo.

Me too. McCoist is the only I can think of who jacked it in to have a go. Shearer doesn't count really.
