Kick It Out wants the FA to investigate Hodgson.

It can only diminish the respect that people have for organisations like Kick It Out when they got involved in frivolous non-issues like this. Piara Powar and Sol Campbell haven't been that impressive in this regard either. Stan Collimore is right when he says it undermines proper anti racism work.

In all likelihood if the leak came from Rio Ferdinand it's due to him holding a grudge for his non selection or he's being a bit dim and has decided he is the arbiter of the issue.

The most interesting thing about this is that it seems Woy uses metaphors based on wordy jokes to motivate his team.

When I heard it was the old 'feed the monkey' joke, I thought it was aimed at Rooney.

Here's the full tweet - “Racism is hard enough to keep on the agenda as it is without making everyone think a legitimate space tale should be cause for offence”

EDIT - Test your knowledge of legitimate space tales!

It doesn't say which ones you got wrong at the end...just the percentage of people that chose one or the other answer :/

I'm guessing I got the Iguana and the Buzz one wrong, the rest were easy.

Perhaps oddly, Stan Collymore is perceptive and entirely correct.

Didn't the player in question say something along the lines of "oh for fuck's sake" too? It's a non-issue.

Yup, it is. All it does is undermine people who actually are victims of racism, and feed the press's hypocritical nonsense.

Playing friendlies can only ever reduce England's position in the world rankings. The ranking is based on average points won across games played, friendly games are worth 2.5x less than competitive fixtures. So even winning away against Brazil or Spain in a friendly match would lower England's FIFA coefficient. Beating teams like San Marino and Moldova in competitive matches also reduces England's score because their rankings are so low.

Switzerland are ranked higher than England because they play less friendlies ...and thus they are going to be seeded at the World Cup. If England had played no friendlies this year we would currently be ranked 4th in the world. Reading that article really makes it clear how broken the rankings system is. The ELO system does seem to be a bit better.

SSN popped up today with the "it's the topic that refuses to go away"... mainly because THEY WON'T DROP IT. I can only imagine that they had a nice scheduling hole for controversy, it didn't manifest, but are pressing ahead with the manifesto regardless in the vain hope people will come around to it.

Any of the United fans got any tips on getting from the centre of Manchester to Old Trafford and back again after the game without too much hassle?
