I'm still fairly relaxed about him going, but slightly frustrated at this point we haven't quite replaced him. If he went now with Lemala not yet done and Willian fallen through, it would be disappointing.

So some suggest Spurs are leaving the transfer late to interfere with any possible business Real might do with Arsenal or Liverpool. But what if Real dicknose Spurs and withdraw from negotiations at the last second. Bale will likely blame Levy and be about as unsettled as a player can be. Bit of a dangerous game being played by spurs.

And on that note I think the club are not going to let that happen, which is why Bale is back in London in a huff and Madrid have not announced him as a player.

Considering Spurs' position since day one has been that they don't want to sell him, there's no real scenario is which Madrid can fuck us over.

I don't believe Bale will ever let any of this affect him on the pitch. He knows he'll get his move sooner or later as long as he continues to make headlines for the right reasons.

It's a domino effect tbh, Roma need to complete Llajic in order to sell Lamela to Spurs who will then let Bale join Madrid.

The idea that any of those Madrid players are signing for Arsenal* is hilarious also. When Arsenal don't sign them it'll have nowt to do with Gareth Bale.

He has a lot of potential but consistently underwhelms on the pitch, to the point where I don't think I know of any Blackpool supporters who didn't think selling him was a fantastic bit of business.

When we got promoted to the Premier League, most of us thought it had come a bit too soon in Phillip's career. The season after he was expected to do great things back on the Championship but was completely eclipsed by the emergence of Tom Ince. Last season, he was disappointing to say the least while Ince got even better and became the hottest property in the league, which is where Phillips should've been development-wise.

Still, he's still pretty young. Lots of raw natural pace but little in the way of football skills and absolutely no brain. At Championship level he should do well... but we've been saying that for a few years now.

Cheers. Well at least he's young, so that's better than 90% of our recent signings....

I really wouldn't be surprised if he came good for you. His career is at the point where it could go either way.

@thedaveeyres Charlie Adam got man of the match for the first time since he left you. If Hughes has a hope of producing cultured football, getting him playing well is probably the key.

The Glasgow Pele is a really good footballer. If Stoke start playing a bit of it and make him centre of attention, he'll do well this season.

Really? ITV said it at the start of the game, you'd think they'd have bothered checking if he was actually there.

Not that I think it means anything, just suprised its not actually true.

He's not really an Arsenal fan. He's a lifelong LA Galaxy fan.

And for the record, I am a bit of a twat.
