Can't make this up, it's got to be true. Just fire Dick Law ffs.
Doesn't help that by all accounts, he's especially average. Certainly can't say he's better than what we have.
Which was Wenger's point again? Something about only wanting something better than what we have.
He doesn't even have to look far. Only about 150 miles north. Somewhere in Birmingham. Club called Aston Villa.
    who? WHO?

In other more depressing news, Spurs have just apparently agreed a fee with Roma for a Lemma.

Heh. Reckon we can swap Bendtner for Benteke?

Nobody fucking wants Bendtner. So he's either going to have to play for us this season since we;re short (out on the wing, most likely) or we use our 'WARCHEST' and pay him to fuck off.

I think I can just about picture how we deal with negotations:

"We'd like to buy your player. He's worth £12m"
"Err, we bought him for £15m, and now he's one of Europe recognised CF/CB/RB/GK/AM/DM (delete as applicable). We'd be willing to listen to offers nearer £25m"
    "Your player is worh £12m"
"Listen, can you at least pretend to barter. That's not how it's supposed to go. You go £17m, we say £23m, you come back with a final offer of £20m, the player is yours. There, that's no so hard is it?"
"Our valuation of your player is £12m"
    "Okthksbye"

I think we are well on our way to pissing off every club in Europe.

To be fair, I'm onboard with Wenger on this one, I don't care about what Spurs or any other team are doing in relation with what we're doing. We should be looking at our own team and improve it where there's need, and that's precisely what we're NOT doing.

Exactly. We were just one point better than Spurs last year, and they have significantly enhanced their squad when it comes to attacking options (and solidified that midfield) - which should more than make up that gap.

No way that's gonna collapse, it's a given. I just don't want you to strengthen even more.

    ------------Lloris-----------

    Walker----Jan---Kaboul?------Countraeu (or whatever)

    ------Paulinho-----Sandro---------

    --------------Dembele------------

    Lamela---------------------Willian

    ------------Soldado--------------

Bench: Holtby, Lennon, Sigs, BAE, possibly Ade, some other mongs.

Yeah supposedly Liverpool refused to rise to that. Noble, but not necessarily sensible. Trust the committee on valuations though.

For those wondering, I'm friends with an agent (has/had a few recognizable players, like Lass Diara).

Prior to becoming an agent, he was a lab scientist for over 15 years.

So guys what are we waiting for?

Have to say as a spurs fan† of many years I am blown away by how well they have handled this bale situation. 6 months I would never had assumed we could lose bale and have a potentially much better team. To the point now where spurs fans pretty much aren't even bothered about keeping him. To lose bale but get the players we have and will get is top work. Well played levy and co.

Defeat is not getting knocked down, but refusing to get back up.

Incidentally, Spurs are spending Bale money plus the new TV money. Swansea, Norwich, Cardiff, West Ham et al are spending the new TV money. Utd and Arsenal have barely spent anything and Liverpool's net spend this window is around zero. Wtf is going on?

Yeah, I've wondered about trying to approach some Brazilian kid (like you do) and claim that I represent him. Seems as though half Arsenal's yoof are 'represented' by their mates (or family friend with Business Studies GCSE).

Baldini started lining up Bale replacements 4 weeks ago, so that Berbatov history wouldn't repeat itself. good ad for directors of football
FFS. They're doing everything better. Pretty incompetent that Arsenal weren't doing this when we knew we were losing Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy.

Would be a tad peadorific to just be approaching young brasil kids promising them hopes and dreams.

Besides, if Anelka's brother can do it and make massive windfalls from it, why can't we?
Really, all you need is the license and some good contacts.

But it's not all glam. He's told me of many incidents involving gangsters being involved in such deals, so isn't completely glamorous.

Still, £5mil foe a week's work sounds worth it.

It was more a) the idea of you not wanting to give agents money as "noble". Not really sure that's the right term.

And b) at the idea Liverpool can be trusted on player valuations, but perhaps that was actually a joke.

Now you're just being greedy... Leave a few players for us to scrap over. Won't happen anyway, if I was a young promising player, I know which team I'd want to join.
