    Bale out then shirley
Was talking to someone yesterday who knows a few people that work at the club and he said a deal with Real for Bale was done 2 weeks ago.
If that's the case then why not announce it already? But yes it looks like we are getting ready for life without Bale.

Because as soon as we have 85m in the bank everyone else costs twice as much.

I dunno, we're overloaded in midfield and I'm not sure about his fitness. The vast majority of our lot think it's a bullet dodged.

Just seen it's a three year deal too!
I think you've missed out. More than anything else his attitude and leadership would do your lot a lot of good.

    Shambles tbh.

On another note I surprisingly actually really rate Carragher as a pundit.

What is with the insulting bids today?

I'd quite like to see us sign another winger (and a clinical forward) but I also do like that Martinez hasn't overhauled the starting eleven.

Pardew has just given his justification for dropping him because "we had a bid, which is not acceptable to us".

And then started to go on about trying to get a result tonight. Surely you want to play your best players?

    Brain dead.

On a side note, what does Anita have to do to get a game? We spent 6m on him and he is right at the bottom of the pecking order

To be fair United have been making these silly bids all summer, Arsenal joining in out of desperation.

Of course it's possible Cabaye himself said he wanted to be dropped because he's not "mentally right" after a derisory bid. Which of course is unprofessional.

but fair play to him if he wants to leave, to be fair we haven't shown any real ambition and the club is not going anywhere fast, it's just why does everything have to be a drama on the eve and day of a big game.

I don't get the outrage of the timing though. What are we supposed to do, only bid the day after a game or something? Yes, it unsettles a player, but that's the nature of having a transfer window still open after the season starts.

Wonder how it came our that there was a bid, can't imagine we'd want to reveal it hours before our first game..

Do these bids really unsettle players? Does it stop them from giving their all? If so, they should be taken behind the stands and knee capped for being so unprofessional. Given what they get paid they shouldn't be losing it.
