So Arsenal have been given permission to talk to Suarez then.

Surely means a transfer is going to happen.
I'd love it if they walked into the meeting and said

    "You're a cunt"

    And walked out.
    :D
Only thing that I've enjoyed about this saga since it started. :o)

I know the boy Veysey got a bit of a slagging last night, and his figures weren't quite right on the Arsenal bid (but he broke it first), but this evening he says Suarez is about to hand in a transfer request.

And Sam Rhodes claims Bale has been speaking with Madrid.

Rhodes is a gooner who knows fuck all about any other club, and not much about Arsenal. Veysey knows very little, just looks to generate easy hits for Goal.com.

The only reliable football journos these days when it comes to exclusives tend to be mouthpieces for specific clubs.

OK, Brentan Rodgers is now saying that 40m is "nowhere near" how much Suarez is worth. That's mental. I'd say it's pretty near, one way or the other.

Please don't be mugs and bid higher Arsenal!

This is basically going to boil down to lawyers - Suarez' and our team think the clause in his contract allows him to leave, Liverpool don't and think he just has to be notified of the bid. So can't see us increasing any offer. Suspect this will drag on a while. It's not like he can play (domestically) anyway

I wood of snapped up the 40 mil. Could bring in some good players for that amount. If he doesn't want to play for us, just get rid. Bales case is different as its one of the biggest clubs in the world after him.

    @THFourteen
I don't understand how they can get away with blatantly tapping up players year after year, makes my blood boil.
I know most teams do it but they seem to be incredibly sneaky and use under hand tactics.

Aye, we have as much experience of that as anyone. Once they don't want to play for you, get rid ASAP. Pointless trying to hold them to contract etc, just becomes (more) disruptive

I think the one thing we have going for us in the Bale situation, is that he hasn't once said he wants to leave.

He seems far more professional than certain others that I wont mention. Therefore if we do sell him (which I don't think we will this year), he goes with the best wishes of most fans I would imagine.

Still plenty of time for this to change of course.....

robc and Dougs have the right of it.

To be completely honest, I think Bale and actually Spurs are both keeping their options open. There's been no firm commitment from him to stay (new contract signed), but no real noises about him going either. I think he's probably reasonably happy either way, and I think Spurs are too, in that they'd like to keep him, but they also probably wouldn't say no to 80m+.

I think any offer over 50m would need serious consideration to be honest. I just can't see how club of our size could down that sort of money.

I don't think he will go until next year, but if we did sell him this year and he doesn't kick up a fuss, I wish him all the best.

To be fair the physio they quoted has worked for some top clubs (most of which are utd's direct rivals which might have some bearing on his comments). But he still sounds like a loon.

SSN said that David Moyes says the Fabregas bid is ongoing.

    SSN made that up.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

I hope Moyes runs that club into the ground.
  • Deleted user 25 July 2013 13:44:05
It seems likely to me to do an 'ok' job, either neither be a crashing disaster, nor a roaring success

What'll be interesting to see is whether that's enough for the club and its fans.

I'm sure if they aren't top by mid-September then 606 will be full of die hard United fans from Kent calling for his head.
