I think Liverpool have to inform him of any bid over 40m, and according to the Guardian Arsenal have bid... 40,000,0001 :)

I don't think it's as straight up as a release clause. I think it means we can talk to him and get him to hand in a transfer request, thereby reducing his value. All a bit odd though.

That's just the cash value of our bid. The truth is we've bid 40m + Bendtner. :)

Real fucking shame, for 40,000,002 we'd have sold him.

The councillor guy makes a valid point, but Wonga are still a far, far, worse shower of cunts than Northern Rock or a casino.
That's not really the point though.

Add another 10 million and you can have him.
I'll even drive the buck toothed cunt down to Highbury myself.

That's not really the point though.
It's a tenable position, not even a particularly nuanced one:

Northern Virgin Money Rock are providing a service, the casino is taking money from people who go in with their eyes open, and Wonga are preying on the desperate and are exactly what the Bible and the Koran meant when they were railing against the evils of usury.

Don't get me wrong, he could very well be using it as an excuse to get a big money move, but unless you can show me prof that he himself has set up a high-interest, short-term, payday loan type service it's still entirely possible that this is about sincerely held beliefs.

He's going to need a flat in London, after all. Unless he wants to commute.

I really do like arsenal (they're my "premier league team") but fuck me they're worrying me. I guess they are serious about signing the toothy bitey cunt

I'm pretty sure Wenger has no idea what to do with all this money, especially now that there's an expectation he has to spend big on at least one player.

They're obviously pretty serious about Suarez, and I just don't get it.

Also, Higuain to Napoli a DONE DEAL apparently.

If Higuain is leaving Madrid I reckon they will make one more BIG signing before the window shuts. I reckon it will be either Bale, Rooney or Suarez.

I reckon Wenger is looking at RvP and how he was the difference at Utd. He's now banking on a major singing giving them a shot at the title like it did for Man U.

Still... Suarez. You'd think Wenger had some morals.

    @The-Bodybuilder
It will always be highbury to an old bastard like me. I have never called highbury the emirates. When i think of Arsenals home i still think "Highbury" and always will. Who could forget Ian Wright showing his arse that time. You don't get that kind of stuff at the poxy emirates.
I still say Sundeland play at roker park, MK dons are still Wimbledon. Wimbledon still play at The Den, and Everton will always play at the dump.

Yes, i have trouble accepting new things.

Stupid thing is, he's not even as good as RVP, and we didnt win anything with him in the team, so why people think its worth wasting 40.000001m on him is beyond me.

Don't quite think it's as simple as that mate! Besides, we have a better overall team than when Van Persie played for us, the last few years especially.

I'd rather we were trophyless for the next 50 years than pay that cunt a single penny.

If he signs for Arsenal after using the English press as one of his excuses for leaving, he really is far worse a person than i thought he was. I would fully expect him to score against Liverpool at Anfield and then run up to the kop end to kiss the Arsenal badge :D

50m and a transfer request, Suarez will move on. I still think that Real will plan a bid once they've got the Higuain deal sorted with Napoli. It's only the same as the Modric Saga where they were charging Chelsea a higher price as they are in the same league.

I'm not sure we'll bid again. Imagine the plan is for him to hand in a transfer request a now, adding 5m to the deal.

More cracking PR from Liverpool. Their owner has just tweeted "what are they smoking at the Emirates". Funny maybe, but definitely not classy.

Playing for Arsenal would probably get him a bit more leeway with the press tbf.

THAT'S where you draw the line?! The biting, the cheating, the racism... all a bit of argy bargy, but lie about your reason for leaving a place of (poor) employment and you're satan?

I'm very surprised, given his history, that anyone thinks he has an ounce of moral fibre in him.

It's going to be quite funny when Arsenal not only lose out on Higuian, but lose Suarez to Madrid with the money they get from the Higuain deal.

Apparently we're in the market for a winger. We'll let you have Bernard if you give us Bale.
