So the stories go... which is why halfway through the first half we got:
    Official Everton ✔ @Everton
Squad update: Baines is in the matchday squad and could feature from a very full bench. #EFCASFC

So apparently Woodward is flying home to push through the transfer of Fabregas to MU? Say it isn't so... :(
Well he's definitely flying back on urgent transfer business, we know that much for sure. So it shouldn't take long to find out what it is.

United have stated that it's nothing to do with Rooney.

    It'll be Baines and Fellaini.

    I just fucking know it.

Can't think of a worse way to start the season if we sign Suarez and United sign Fabregas.

Fabregas would be just as bad as Van Persie to United for me, even if he isn't our player anymore. Just doesn't make sense, I understand the lure of SAF over Wenger, I don't understand the appeal of David Moyes

Talk of the devil - "Fabregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona. We have a clause in the contract so we would be on alert" - Wenger

Sort of bad news though too, from the Napoli President "Higuain? Why quicker for him and forget Damiao? On the Argentinean there are also Chelsea and Arsenal"

Combination of not getting into the Barcelona team as he wants and less likely too with new blood coming in. Probably just wants to leave. RvP is probably a big draw at Utd.

Interesting that Wenger says "One more year". I think Fabregas coming home could be on for next summer, depending on how we do this year/who we bring in.

RVP with a midfield 3 of Fabregas-Modric-Carrick. Would make up for selling Rooney.

Starting 30 out of 38 league games for Barcelona and 6 Champions League games = not getting into the team.

I wish this myth that Fabregas doesn't play would die a fucking death.

Only four players played more minutes in La Liga for Barca last season, and only Valdes started more games.

Ooooh what a cunt. Didn't take long for the apparent changed man to return back.
He does have a bizarre dislike especially for arsenal. Not sure why.

    Funny though.

The issue with Fabregas (that the papers are saying) isn't that he's not being played, but the fact he's being played out of position too often. I'm holding out a faint hope the transfer will happen but it probably won't.

Yeah, it's the fact that he's often played out on the wide as part of a front 3 and won't get much game time now they've signed Neymar.

    Still, this one ain't happening.

I've said it all summer, but we'll end up with Baines and Fellaini. Thiago was potentially a goer until Pep stepped in, then we had no chance.

Don't get your hopes up about anyone else other than those two. You'll only be dissapointed. Not bad players at all and they're proven in the Premier League. Not signings to make Europe sit up and take notice, though.

Boo. Can't find a reliable source for it.

Anyway, looks like Bale to United will be the paper seller for a few days. Can't imagine there's anything in it at all.

you might be forgetting Kagawa there, sure he didnt have an amazing first season but in a lot of ways that was to be expected. He still showed enough to know he is a quality player.

He wouldn't get in over Fab or Modric though, which is the point.

    @ElNino9

I think Fellaini could well be a world beater at a club like United.

Im not sure Modric is any better than Kagawa, also Kagawa wasnt played in his favoured role often for us last year. Although im not sure that will happen this year either unless we are going 1 up top.

Fellaini is a liability as well though, the sort of player who will needlessly get himself sent off in a CL quarter final for something that shouldnt have needed to happen. There is no doubting on his day that he is a good player and can boss a park but im not sure he is the answer to our midfield.

Modric plays a lot deeper than Kagawa. Kagawa plays off of a front man or as part of a front 3 I believe. Modric makes things tick in the middle of the park. It's why he never gets many goals / assists. People don't always understand his importance to the team and just look at goals / stats.

Modric to United makes sense actually. Think that would be a superb signing for them.
