A new-look Arsenal frontline could feature 29-year-old Chelsea striker Fernando Torres partnering Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain, 25, if Gunners manager Arsene Wenger gets his way.

Yea, that's utterly ludicrous. I can't see wenger ever, ever going in for torres. How does trash like that ever get perpetuated?

I dunno, a world class striker down on his luck and form?

Sounds pretty Wenger. Not that I believe it, but I'm guessing they've seen the Higuain interest and thought, "What other class strikers are having a hard time?" and came up with Torres.

Torres is past his best. I can't see him getting back to what he was before Liverpool screwed him up playing him too early.

Bad form? He's nearly played more games for Chelsea than he did for Liverpool!

In other news, AVB has said he'll probably quit management in 5-10 years and do the Dakar rally.

When he was a kid in La Masia he dreamed of one day playing under David Moyes.

So Liverpool have 48hrs to match our bid for Ince of 8.5 million. I can't see Liverpool interested in paying that amount especially with the players they've already signed who look like much better options.

Don't forget they'll have a discount from his sell-on clause, so they might yet put an offer in.

Hasn't Paul Ince said that they've accepted the Cardiff bid but he isn't very keen on going?

Read about that Spurs thing earlier - and instantly thought, hang on, surely they can't afford them two plus Paulinho AND the striker they desperately need, without one or two major outgoings?

@TheSaint Rumours seem to suggest so and we've given him 24hrs to decide.

Never pay any attention to what players say when they're linked away. They say nice things about all of their options.

According to a press conference now, no deal has been agreed but discussions are continuing. Sounds promising for Spurs:

'We are negotiating with Tottenham. We hope and believe the transfer of those two to Spurs will happen, but it's not yet done.'

Considering how highly they're rated it's exciting, but they are very much for the future (if we even get them). In fact the word is they'll be immediately loaned back to Dynamo.

So good news, but virtually irrelevant at this point.
